Our Pledge, Our Promise: The Pledge of Allegiance Explained Paperback – July 22, 2020

As a Librarian, I am exposed to many books throughout the school year. This book caught my attention since the subject matter was clearly written and the illustrations were colorful and reflected the content. It was perfect for all the grade levels at our elementary school. It was especially appropriate for our patriotic holidays. We specifically used this book for our Flag Day schoolwide celebration. We plan on circulating and promoting this book throughout the school year and using it for our other patriotic holidays. It is obvious that the author and illustrator put a great deal of thought into this wonderful book. The author was generous in collaborating with us on our patriotic celebration. I would recommend this book for use in schools and homes to promote an understanding of "Our Pledge Our Promise". This review was written by Mrs. L. Gorski, school librarian.

This was a great book to read at the beginning of the school year. Helps the kids to understand the importance of the flag, and the words that belong to the pledge.

Even after reciting this pledge a huge portion of my life, I learned so much reading this colorful entertaining rhyming book! Highly recommend it. Nice job to the author! Very well done!

I adore this book. It shows pride in America which is what we need now and always. I highly recommend this book for Everyone. We can all have a refresher course about our pledge. Most children have heard it and repeated it. They do not understand it. The book takes the Pledge one sentence at a time and explains it in regular speech."For All". For Every person who lives here.Then it has Fun Facts and Shows how to properly fold the flag.Red means Bold and BraveWhite means Free and clear, truths.Blue means Justice.

Beautiful pictures and great explanation of all aspects of the pledge of allegiance and the flag itself. I'm using this book in my homeschool classes so they know more than just the words. As the daughter and granddaughter of WW2 and Korean conflict vets I'm big on understanding anything pathetic.

Love the simplicity and explanations teaching children the importance of our flag and the pledge. So much history and tradition has been taken for granted and this book explains the Pledge of Allegiance in a fun rhyming story with added bonus facts at the end.

I appreciated using this to teach my kiddos about the Pledge of Allegiance, which we plan to do daily in our homeschool.

This book educates the reader on the meaning behind the words of our pledge. Each phrase in the promise is explained and offers suggestions on what we can do to show allegiance. At the back of the book, there are fun historical facts to learn. The illustrations are colorful and detailed. I highly recommend this book.

My daughter and I enjoyed reading this book. We picked it to read this week to try and learn something new. We didn't know about The Pledge of Allegiance so this book was a great start for us to find out more. We loved the fun facts and the illustrations are lovely.I like finding informative books like this and I will be looking out for more books from this author in the future.5 Stars *****
