Dark Blonde to Medium Brown Henna Hair Color, Ancient Sunrise Clarity Cassia 100% Natural Hair Dy - Ancient Sunrise Henna For Hair Chai Kit

I was looking for a more "natural" way to color my greys and decided to try henna. After some research, I found that many sites really warn you that you going back to commercial-type dyes is very difficult, so I looked for a quality product for a while, and I feel that I have found it with Ancient Sunrise.I started with the Chai kit - I tend to have golden red undertones with commercial dyes and need something with a bit of an Ash color. The product is easy to use with a little patience and I was intrigued and impressed with their website help at Mehandi.com. They have color wheels based on the combination of hennas/plants that you use, with a little research you can adapt the color you are looking for. So I have settled at this time on the Chai combo with just a little less of the Sudina Cassia in the mix to deepen the golden color.What's amazing is that I would never have thought you can have blondes with henna!! - I always thought it was the super dark or reds that were your choice - yet I really like my honey blonde! In the picture, I have grown out about 5 inches of greys that I have been root coloring over 6 months or so - about once every 4-6 weeks. It's also amazing how much better my scalp feels with the henna - I usually have dry skin and the henna helps with this. I also now use an Amla shampoo from HairPrint to treat the scalp as well and that helps, too. It's pretty awesome!

It is just ok. Nothing to write home about. It is overpriced for what it does.

My natural color is dark blonde, going gray, and I had about two inches of growth with the rest dyed (with box dye) a light reddish brown. The pic where my hair is pulled back shows my natural roots and the second pic is after coloring with the kit. I didn't want to dye my hair with chemical color again and I hoped the chai kit would blend my natural color with the dyed part, as well as tone down the red. It did do the first, but the second not too much. Overall I'm pleased with the color - it does look natural (although not exactly my natural color). I wish it would've been more ashy, but I'm not surprised it wasn't due to the reddish dye on most of my hair. The kit was easy to use with clear instructions. Time-consuming, as with all henna products, but worth it to avoid the chemicals.

Warm gorgeous caramel on cool dark blond with golden highlights on grays. I used everything in the package except the indigo. I tried it without the inclusion of the indigo and found it was gorgeous without it. My natural hair is very cool and smoky dark blonde. If you natural color is not, you may need to use the indigo.The price was more than I expected. Even with the small amount of money I have to manage living off of, buying anything else (including the uneven, gravel and twig filled dirt products and the many inconsistent and weak color results by the products I've tried before) it would seem ridiculous to buy anything else. As long as I keep receiving the same quality of product, I will be a customer for life and will be looking to see what other products I may find.I am a intolerant, analytical grouch. I've used another Henna product before this, but wanted to try Ancient Sunrise Henna For Hair Chai Kit with the henna, cassia, and indigo. I also chose it because it said it would dye warm highlights into medium to dark, graying hair. I've followed the instructions and done applications twice and there's been no coverage of gray hairs. I like the color, but am disappointed about the grays -- which is the main reason I'm applying the product. I then emailed the company at their info address to ask what they would recommend, but after 2 1/2 weeks, I have received no response to my inquiry. Since this cost about 3x what I previously paid for another product (although it wasn’t a kit), I hoped for better coverage of grey and customer service.

Very happy with product. It worked well over dyed red/brown hair and about an inch of dark blonde with grey regrowth.Because my hair is quite short I froze some of the cassie/henna mix for later use and just mixed the indigo into the amount I was using on the day.Really impressed with the quality of the materials, how nice my hair looks and how rich the color is. I haven't liked my hair this much for a long time.I'm looking forward to applying it again and seeing how I can play with different ratios to get different effects. I used to be scared of dying my hair and now I feel like an alchemist having fun. Using these ingredients was so different to other home dye kits. Love it!

This product is far superior to Light Mountain I had been using for a few years. The quality of the henna, cassia and indigo is so much betyer, no grit on the scalp.
