Best Black Hair Color with Organic Henna and Indigo - Ancient Sunrise Formula to Cover Gray, Jet Black Mehandi Dye

This is my first time using something like this. I’m using it to cover grays. I’ve been getting gray hair since I was early 20s just like my dad.Anyway I’d been doing permanent box color or a rinse color from a salon for about 2 years and I noticed the front of my hair was breaking off and my hair was falling out easily so I freaked. I can only speak of my experience a few days after at this time, not long term.The product came with two big green powders and one white powder. This was a little concerning bc I’m looking for black dye and I’m seeing green. I also realized this is almost a two day process. So prepare. The first mixture turned into like a copper color and I was very concerned. How is this gonna give my grays black color? That had to sit first for 8hrs minimum.So when I washed it out my roots were copper colored and I was like omg wth. Then as directed I made the second indigo mixture. This was a blackish green with a black shiny film on top. Honestly I could only keep on the indigo (2nd mixture) about 1.5 hours instead of 2-3. This indigo did the trick. My hair looks great, and if it does no damage later I’m sold.It’s just a longer process than drugstore box color. You have two applications and are supposed to wash your hair out about 3 different times. There’s the 8 hour wait time for the henna to be ready , and both henna and indigo need minimum of 2 hours in the hair. And of course the price is higher but absolutely worth my hair growing and healthy on my head

Always leaves my hair dyed for at least 5 weeks unlike other dyes where my greys show up within 2-3 weeks of coloring. The henna makes my hair feel healthy and soft. The indigo makes my hair feel very stringy and smells earthy for a good week despite washes. Luckily it does go away and goes back to normal. Also be careful wearing light clothes because wet hair might stain it too soon after coloring. This is a very long process, so cut a good chunk of the day out for this. One package only covers the roots for me and I have medium length, curly, thickthickthick hair...did I say thick?!!! Despite some of the nuances, great products and if it keeps my hair from being grey longer....it's a win.

Mehandi.com is my only "go to place" for all things henna.This was another bat out of the ball park. I used this four months ago (or more?) and my hair, my hair, my hair! Black! It conditioned, it "blackened". Gave me gorgeous, rich black hair, even on my grays.Now, as it has mellowed out, my naturally brown hair still looks black, and one section of my gray hair has a very faint auburn/gold (it's odd that it only shows at certain times, and even though it is still dark, it gives off those colors in a way that people might want to make their hair do. I don't know how it happened, but it looks so nice when I wear my hair in curly twists) The rest of my gray, other than this one spot, just seems black/darkest brown.I bought another kit for gray hair (the dark brown kit) for the winter because dark brown looks warmer in the cold winter. I'll do the gray for black kit again in the summer, when my hair tends to fade a lot.

It is good for the hair and easy to remove from hair! But it takes two separate applications for color to deposit in shaft of hair! Buy two kits because you will need it! Not great for coloring but great for moisturizing hair!

I almost gave up looking for this exact product I love this product, my hair & sclap too, you see I have a recation to chemicals in hair dye such as ammonia, sulfate, parabens. Preoxide dryes my so badly it breaks of, dry brittle split ends and won't grow much. Good quality, think I will try a different color next time the process is worth it in the end results, it's time to order again.

I've been using this product for about 5 years. I've tried everything out there since I started to get noticeable gray hair coming in. This product completely covers my gray and leaves me with beautiful black hair. I don't even leave it on as long as recommended. It makes my hair very soft and almost acts as a straightener. There are so many hair dyes that contain harmful chemicals, it is scary shopping for dark hair dyes. Can't say enough about this product. Also, I've never had any issues with delivery. I think they started selling on Amazon recently, I used to buy directly from them.

This worked just okay on my ashen black hair. It did turn my hair black but its no match for the sun where i live. My hair turns nearly blonde every summer. My grays turned a reddish brown color except in the front hairline...they remained gray. I am basically giving this prpduct 4 starts for the amount of time it took to color my hair...7 hours! But I can say my hair is healthy, resilient, and seemingly stronger than before the Henna treatment!

This is the only henna I swear by. The seller is actually a brick and mortar store owner in Ohio. I found her years ago and no other henna comes close. She has all products lab tested to ensure quality and absence of pesticides, poisons, and other toxins. Absolute quality here!!!
