I received the strawberry flavor instead of the mango. The chews are individually wrapped. Unwrapped they look like caramels and taste like Starbursts. They are not overly sweet. The spice contributes a slight earthiness. I can't say I've noticed any particular health benefit but these are probably better than candy since they have no sugar but do have curcumin. They do provide good chew.

I couldn't even get started on chewing these. Once it was in my mouth and I started to get ready to bite into it, the taste was just awful. I mean seriously gross and nasty. There was no way I'd actually eat and swallow one of these.Just in case I had one that was bad, I tested a second one, and it too was just as horrible.Doesn't matter what goodness they may contain if they're so icky that you can't ingest it.

Curcumin/turmeric is a very popular herbal cure for many ailments, and there have been a few studies establishing its effectiveness in joint pain relief. You can take turmeric in capsule form, mix it with water and drink it, eat a lot of turmeric containing food, and now, candy with turmeric in it. These chewables should appear to some, but I didn’t find them particularly appetizing. I think of myself as an adventurous eater with a particular fondness for Asian and Indian food, but one of these was enough for me. I’ll stick with capsules.

I've used some other Turmeric soft chews (Zen Labs) to help with issues from fibromyalgia so comparing those gummies to these chews I find these to have a more unpleasant taste and are much more expensive for the amount of turmeric you get per chew. Both are considerably more expensive than the average capsule, but those often have even more turmeric and I seem to have issues with them (GI sensitivity) as a result. I would like to find a chew that doesn't have added sugar, I personally try not to have added sugar in my diet as these do. For me they definitely don't taste like candy, they have a more savory taste, it's not really terrible, just not something I particularly cared for. So personally I just didn't like these as much as other chewable alternatives I've used.

I really am a big fan of how these taste. The consistency is much like the consistency of star burst candies. They are chewy, like taffy but a little softer. They look and are shaped like starbursts as well. In my opinion, the even taste a lot like some of the tropical fruity flavored ones I used to eat back in the day, only with more of a bitter sour taste to them...and of course...a slight tumeric taste. I can taste the mango nectarine flavors in these candies. Because of the sour taste some people might not appreciate these as much as I do because some may think the tumeric and nectarine flavors clash. It is all a matter of preference but I really enjoy these. In fact, I cannot limit myself to the suggested 1 or 2 chews at a time. I tend to get a little carried away and over indulge on these. This brings me to my next point. For heaven's sake, don't eat these at night. One of the benefits of taking these, and a characteristic of tumeric, is that it gives you energy. Well, this definitely give me energy and I find that when I eat them at night I have a hard time getting to sleep because I am wired. It's probably best to eat these in the morning for mid day. This is when you want to utilize the energy these give anyway.
