Twine
Useful for tying your chicken to your rotisserie in your BBQ. Unless you're rubbish at knots, in which case it won't help.

Loads of it but not nearly as strong as I expected
Got this for tying up my Christmas porchetta…snapped three times in the process. Got it sorted in the end but I thought this stuff would be much stronger. Don‘t know for certain as I have no basis for compression but I‘m pretty sure that pro butchers must use better stuff than this. You do get loads of it though

Sometimes an old reliable classic is just what you need.
I've been n I.T. for many years and have acquired quite a collection of cables - different protocols, lengths etc. Sometimes I need to use one for perhaps a month, then it goes back in a bin - I used to use rubber bands - but they dry out and crack, and the cables get intertwined. I've tried loops of that clear tape in a green plaid container. Peel if off and it tears and/or leaves a sticky rsidue. Don't get me talking about that gray DUCT (ends with a T but many think it ends with a K) - it leaves a residue as well and can be hard to open. I've tried cable ties as well if ou use them 'backwards' they can resused, but a cable may put enough pressure on an undersized one to spring it. I've tried using stripss of the 'hook & eye' tape - expensive, and who knows if/when,if ever someone will ever need to use that cable again? I found a ball of generic twine left over from the days when we got both a morning and evening newspaper and were encouraged to bundle them. Much to heavy for the purpose, and the ends unravel. Finally I remembered what my grand dad called 'butcher's twine'. Perfect. Easily cut to the length you need, loop it around, and tie it as easily as if you were doing your shoe laces. (OMG - do young folks know how to do that? I recently ran into some who didn't understand the concept of clockwise. Maybe there's a YouTube video I can get them to watch.)Anyway - in short, it is a fine product. And it made me think of Gramps.
