I ordered this for my sister, who is a chef and culinary instructor as a Christmas gift. I owned this brand of knives for myself and when she was at my house she admired the Wusthof knives in my drawer. I ordered this and a the paring knife for her. She is very frugal with her own kitchen at home so was truly thrilled to have such fine knives for her own home kitchen. I am only sorry I didn't think of it sooner. She is one happy chef at home now.

Does anything a knife should be able to do, bar cutting fresh bread out the oven...might need a bread knife for that

It’s not the Classic knife and is lighter than the classic. I like the classic better but this one is doing well. Cuts well and sharp

I ordered this chef’s knife a year ago and ended up chipping it on a bone. Reordered this same one last week and it is nowhere near the same quality as the previous one I ordered. It’s MUCH lighter and the steel stained immediately. Returned and will be finding somewhere else to order. Wusthof is a good brand, but I don’t think this was a legitimate Wusthof knife.

This is my first wusthof and I’m a little disappointed at first it was really good, sharp, good handling all that. After a week of being my workhorse (I work in a kitchen 10hrs/day) the blade needs to be sharpened. I always use my steel between uses and am careful to not ding the blade and it struggles to cut.

This knife is very well made. The handle fits my hand perfectly. It cuts very well. I did need to purchase a separate knife sheath for it. It would be nice if it came with its own sheath. Otherwise, you cannot go wrong with this knife.

Es muy buen cuchillo para ser de las líneas más accesibles de Wusthof, no le doy la calificación perfecta porque siento que le falta un poco más de robustes es muy ligero y se rayo un poco desde la primera lavada hay que usar casi solamente agua para mantenerlo en perfecto estado.

Por lo poco que vale ya tienes un muy buen cuchillo para emplear en casa. Incluso algún profesional puede encontrarlo adecuado y no gastar entre 3000€ y 30.000€, según el grado de exigencia personal.Opino que la forma es perfecta. La mano y el cuchillo se adaptan inmediatamente por su buen equilibrio. La empuñadura es muy válida y no hace falta gastar en empuñaduras supuestamente mejores. La dureza lo mantendrá bien afilado sin que se produzcan muescas por la ambición de haberlo hecho demasiado duro.Claro que hay que tratarlo con cariño: nada de lavavajillas, limpiarlo siempre enseguida después de usarlo para que no se manche y guardarlo en una funda. Tratándolo bien el afilado durará tiempo.Para mejores resultados sugiero YouTube para aprender a cortar y a afilar, si no sabes.

Durch eine Sendung im Fernsehen bin ich auf dieses Messer aufmerksam geworden. Dort wurde vor allen Dingen die sehr lang anhaltende Schärfe gelobt.Vorab: ich schleife meine Messer selbst bei Bedarf mit dem Wetzstahl und merke dann auch wieder einen Unterschied in der Schneide-Qualität...Aber: So ein scharfes Messer habe ich noch nie besessen. Es geht durch alles mit Leichtigkeit durch, kein rumgeschiebe und -gesäge, bis man endlich etwas zerschnitten hat.Es liegt sehr gut und sicher in der Hand, was bei dieser Schärfe sehr notwendig ist.Ein einfaches Abspülen unter fließendem Wasser, ggf. mit etwas Spülmittel, und schon ist es wieder sauber und einsatzbereit.Das Messer wird mit einer Hülle verschickt, so dass die Klinge geschützt und sicher aufbewahrt werden kann.Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hier ist unschlagbar und somit für mich eine absolute Kaufempfehlung.
