Braaitime - Droewors, South African Dried Beef Sausage - Original, 16oz

After learning that real food is meat, and being disappointed in beef jerky makers pumping sugar into their products, I was glad to discover biltong and droewors. They are delicious and most brands have no sugar. To figure out which brand to get, I purchased several at once to compare.I’ve tried out 3 different brands of Droewors:(1) Braaitime(2) Ayoba-Yo(3) StryveBy far, Braaitime is the best of the bunch. Nice, smooth, flavor. The subtle coriander flavor brings you back for more. Ayoba-Yo was pretty good, but Braaitime was clearly better. Then far below is Stryve biltong sticks. They were noticeably spicy, even though they are labeled as original flavor. Braaitime lists all their ingredients (beef, salt, vinegar, black pepper, coriander, nutmeg, clove, and lamb casing), but the package I receive from Stryve included an ingredient “spices” so I’m not sure what is hiding in there. I really hope Braaitime continues to sell their droewors product because it is far superior to the Stryve brand.

I have been ordering the droe wors for a long time. Today my order was delivered the packing does not look the same. I have not even opened it yet but I could see the oilyness i have never had this droe wors or any other droe wors that had oilyness to it. Usually it was longer pieces all of a sudden this order the droe wors is in smaller pieces. I had a piece and it is not the same as i usually get very dissapointing it is very oily that is all i could taste. I have 2 bags of droe worst thatI am not going to eat since thw taste and quality is not matching the price. I use to be so excited to order this product but this waa the last time i am very dissapointed

This product is similar to pieces of Slim Jim. It has a casing that is quite thick and noticable when you chew. The meat is very greasy. Not overly salty.

As someone who grew up in South Africa, I'm picky about my biltong and droëwors. Don't get me wrong, this is tasty, but disappointing if you've had better. I think the spice ratio is off with this one. From a flavor and texture standpoint, the Carnivore Natural droëwors definitely beats Braaitime by a long shot. From a thickness standpoint, Braaitime wins. That said, if Carnivore is out of stock again, I might buy this instead, but if Carnivore has stock, I'm definitely buying that instead, since the price difference is just not there to warrant the flavor difference.

So good. I buy these as a special treat for hunting and camping trips. They never last more than a couple days because they’re so delicious.

Very dissenting with what is shown in photo versus little EXTREMELY GREASY pieces that come.My wife is South African and prior to moving to the US we lived in Cape Town for 6 years.Never saw anything in the 6 years living there or during annual visits back sold as Greasy as this is.Flavor isn’t bad but unable to eat the product due to amount of fatty grease in every single piece.I was looking forward to some Droewors having run out of the last bit we brought back from Cape Town and unfortunately this is not worth buying.Would not recommend for anyone looking for South African Droewors unless you want a mouthful of greasy fat in every bite.

I am from South African origin residing in the United States. I was very much looking forward to receiving this droewors that I ordered. First off, the packing is deceptive. It depicts long droewors pieces, but what you get is small chopped up pieces. Also, be warned they are extremely oily! I will definitely not be purchasing from this company again. Very disappointing!

The packaging is now clear instead of black, the casing of the droewors also tastes and bites different than previous versions
