FroliCat Flik Automatic Cat Teaser

Was super disappointed by end of The 2nd day. : ( Pros and Cons for this and Meow Kitty toy
Was Super disappointed after just 2 days.Initially my 3 cats were very intrigued as they are with almost all their new toys. My younger kitty the most, Baby. I think they thought at first I had bought them another one of those CAT MEOW toys where the feather goes all around in circles and they chase it like mad kitties on catnip. They were really really mad at me when in dies within the first week and because I had been hooked into burning 2 for 1 ...which ended up being 4 for 2 that turned somehow into 3 for 6 (dont ask I have no clue)almost 70 bucks by time they got done with SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGES AND OTHER FEES ETC.Anyway...they loved that toy so much and actua got depressed and then upset with me aft r r each and every one of then died within a few days. 1...0 ok...I got a bad one...2...boy I sure have bad luck but after 3, 4 then 5 died I gave up on thatWhat I really I liked abt this toy was that bit had an automatic shutdown time so I didn't need to waste the batteries. It stayed onabt 15 min or so and if I wanted I could click it in easily.THYellow AT WAS the second thing I really liked about it. It could be turned on/off easy at just the touch of a button. One that couldn't be so easily found on accident. The other cats MEOW yellow toy had to buy turned upside down to get to it.Other pros an cons:Pet safe frolic flik automatic cat teaser vs. Cats Meow Plastic Undercover mouse toyPro: auto switch off aft 15 min. Con: no auto switch off, will keep playing until u turn off or batteries diePro: easy access switch on/off button On side of toy Con: on/off button under toy, awkward to turn on/offPro: uses 3 BAtteries and with outdo time off Will save lots of battery time. Con: 3C batteries and with no auto shutoff, uses batteries quicklyPro: takes up less space. Con: uses at least 2x spacePro : very sturdy construction. Won't hurt if. Con: Yellow "plastic" cover gets snagged by claws. And if your Kitty lays on cat lays on it to catch feather or string etc, it burns out motor if no one removes themCON: (it Does have them) $ 2x CATS MEOW PRO: Fairly cheap in price unless you get sucked into buying all the "free"CON: The little plastic "tail" that kitties chase only Ones. If you buy one, get directly through Amazon Goes around half the circle. MY cats were. PRO: My CATS HAD THE BESTEST TIME EVER PLAYING WITH IT!!! THEY bored within 2 days and haven't Asked me to would run in circles till then we're panting! When they got tired of the put it on even once. Heavy play they would sit around a corner and hunt it down, pounce On it then run back to their hiding place to start all over again. PRO/CON: This toy will probably last forever...but they. Are too bored to care. My one cat still likes it when PRO/CON My Kitties love love loved this toy. Don't think I've seen It's turned on. She lays on and uses it like a. My older"fluffy" kitty run around so excited like that in Massage table. Guess that's something?!? YEARS. And it was really fun watching them acting like Kittens again. At least till the last of the 6 I owned diedNow I have very unhappy kitties. If only the last CON for the meow kitty was fixed I would have stuck with t h at for sure. Kitties don't understand the price of batteries or that if they lay on a warm vibrating toy the motor will die and it will break. They mellowed and looked for that toy for over 3weeks every time they would hear that certain plastic against plastic sound they'd come running to see if I found their toy. I felt so bad for them. Hence this frolic cat teaser toy. It's a teaser alright if you know what I mean. After all the excitement I had of getting it out of the box and putting the batteries in , which rubbed off on them of course, it was a huge big letdown. When they seemed to like it those first few minutes I was really happy and I could see they were too. They expected it to be like their other toy. Baby laid on one side and Fluffy and Bitsy on the opposite. It didn't take long for Baby to realise...hey it's not coming my way, quit hogging it. Fluffy is like...its not me dude. Hey MOMMMMY, BITSY broke the new toy. No I didn't, yes you did, then it was Baby...no way, I didn't do nothing I was just lay in right here. Are you lay in on it again fluffy? You know Moms don't like that. No, but BITSY is looking at it crossed and it thinks we're mad at it so it won't play. No I'm not, yes you is, no, yes no......... before I knew it there was an all out Cat fight. You know how hard it is to referee 3 cats that all think they are right? Not fun.Well I guess you get the gist of it. I tried to be fair with pros and cons. Guess the worse is that the one con that couldn't be overlooked was the one that mattered the most; for Meow Kitty, couldn't keep one alive more than a few days and for this one The Pet Safe Frisky Cat Teaser toy(grief, you know what it's called) was definitely a tease. It only made them Frisky for about an hour total. Even if I of the 3 Had liked it that would be great but no such luck.I gave it a 2 because it has a lot of pros and maybe someone else's cats get frisky easier or enjoys this toys moves. My Kitties wernt impressed. To keep them frisky, I guess a toy really has to pull out all the stops and really really move in all directions fast.So I guess I'm off to find a toy that does that. I see a different version of the meow kitty one that's really colorful but I'm a little leery of those thing now. If you have any ideas, I'm always up for a little help finding frisky toys that my kitties might likeHappy Pet Shopping ~ KJNOLAN. ;)

Potential Choking Hazard to a Cat
The media could not be loaded. Β A quick rundown of this toy - there is a little arm on the inside that a string is attached to. A small motor on the inside occasionally spins the arm around, which flicks the string. About a third of the device is open on the sides, which means the string only flicks out of one side. There is a random element of when the motor spins up, so the string doesn't flick out in a set rhythm. The toy takes three AA batteries in a slot on the bottom. There is a button on the side that turns the device on and off. There doesn't seem to be an auto-off timer, but I noticed that eventually the unit would turn off and my kitten would complain for me to turn it back on. I'm not sure if my unit was defective or not, the instructions don't mention auto shut off. It is a little loud, making a whir noise every few seconds. My kitten loved the toy immediately. I turned it on and my kitten was entertained with it for a good hour or so while I watched TV. Unfortunately, the toy only lasted about two days. The second day, I left the toy with my kitten and my kitten started playing with it, occasionally complaining when the toy turned off. Eventually, however, my kitten caught the string and chewed through it. Luckily, I caught my kitten before she ate the string and choked. My kitty isn't especially destructive, so I was a little surprised about it. This is definitely not a toy you want to leave with your cat without supervision. That is why I docked off some stars. Ironically, this toy is made by a company called PetSafe.I sent an email to the company explaining the flaws I found, but haven't gotten a response back yet. I ended up taking the toy apart to replace the string. There are a handful of screws on the bottom, then a screw on the arm that swings around. You can unscrew the piece that holds the string, then replace the string. There is a knot at the end of the string inside that piece. I really expected higher quality for the money. The customer support of FroliCat/PetSafe haven't contacted me back yet, but they do have a nice website where you can register your product, email them, and even have a phone number you can call. I'm not sure whether or not they actually check their messages, but if they do get back with me, I will update this review.Update: A few days after contacting PetSafe and the day after posting this review, PetSafe customer service offered to send me another unit. I upped my rating up a star because of this. In the email, it is recommended not to replace the string. It is still possible if the string wears out, but the movement doesn't seems as smooth with my replaced string. Either way, this isn't like a laser toy where you can leave unsupervised with your cat. Hopefully they improve the quality of the string so it isn't as easily chewed through.Update 2: Also added a video so you can see and hear the toy in action. The noise is louder in person than in the video. Remember to keep an eye on your cat while they play with this!

Cats absolutely love it!
Our three young cats absolutely love this toy. They have several battery operated toys, but this is a firm favourite. In fact they like it so much that we have to hide it when not in use, or they get it out themselves and try to work out how to switch it on.Just one slight criticism. One time, and only one time, the string got stuck inside the mechanism, and a screwdriver was needed to free it. It's only happened the once; most of the time it puts up with very rough use, and a large Maine Coon who's determined to get inside it. It seems to be very safe too, although we make sure they don't play with it without supervision. But overall, a real hit!

Cats enjoyed it for the 10 mins it worked
As the title said, the cats loved this and even ignored me putting their food out to play with it. Unfortunately after around 10-20mins of being on the string managed to get wrapped around the motor and jamming the thing solid. I was going to take it apart to unjam it but as I'd only just bought the thing I've decided to return it.I know it's only a cat toy but problems like this should be sorted out seeing as it's Β£20+

Very disappointed in what could be a great toy.
Very disappointed with what should have been a fantastic toy... the cats were very excited and interested in it but it broke within half an hour! The string needs to be much faster for one thing as they can easily catch it and secondly the string has now vanished inside & is irretrievable. The toy is making a whirring sound but no string coming out. I hope the makers will redesign making it much faster and so that it doesn't break.

My cats are OBSESSED!!!!! PetSafe FroliCat Flik Automatic Cat Teaser
PetSafe FroliCat Flik Automatic Cat TeaserBoth my cats are in love with this toy. Utterly fascinated by it. Auto shut down is a good feature although they keep bullying me to switch it back on again...and again..and again. So I look forward to the model with a remote! :D I suggest putting it away at night because my to start dragging it around as soon as it switches off. Yip, thy love it that much.
