Goods shipments, intended for transport along sea routes, are in danger of gathering dust in the warehouses or being lost at sea in a storm. While the players speculate about success and failure, the ultimate fate of the ships will be determined by the dice.

Great fun board game for my family of gamers
Great fun board game for my family of gamers. Super fun gambling game, especially if you've got a bunch of different personality types playing. Bought it because my friend had one but his game had a wooden boat and fancier coins while my set only had cardboard boats and coins. Definitely turning into a family favorite along with catan, ticket to ride, smash up and resistance!

Latest edition is horrible!
I first played the game years ago and was astonished by the game's quality and attention to detail. After playing many different games, I had never seen one that had devoted so much effort into the game's contents, namely the punts and the coins. The punts in the prior edition were made of a solid resin or plastic material, and the coins were beautifully colored and etched plastic. Both these elements add a sensorial bonus to the game that says a lot about the publisher.10 years have passed and I finally got a chance to buy my own copy, only to be horribly dissapointed: the wonderful coins are gone, replaced by bland and tasteless cardboard chits, and the punts are also gone also replaced by flimsy cardboard that needs to be bent into shape, risking serious damage if left to be assembled by unskilled hands.The game mechanics are still there as are the unique design elements, but the taste and feel are gone. If you're interested in this game, look for the previous edition, even if it's used. I wish I did.

Great game ruined by manufacturer trying to cut cost.
Agree with previous reviewer. Excellent game ruined by cheap revision. I bought this game after playing many times with friends. Their copies have hard plastic coins and boats and this 'new' version has cheap cardboard chits. Definitely not worth the price. Sadly disappointed. I should have looked for a used copy. Don't waste your money on this cheap version.

This game simulates how venture capital works, it's even more fun if you're working for a startup, you can say "yeah, IPO" when your boat goes into dock.

Zugegeben hatten wir am Anfang etwas Mühe mit der ellenlangen Beschreibung und Anleitung.Als wir jedoch erst einmal alles durchgelesen und verinnerlicht hatten, hat das Spiel einen riesen Spaß gemacht!Es ist nicht sehr anspruchsvoll, birgt aber einiges an Spaß für einen schönen Spieleabend.Wir würden es weiterempfehlen.

Das Spiel macht der ganzen Familie Spaß. Kinder spielen es auch gerne alleine. Das Handeln mit der Ware führt dazu, dass (Grundschul-)Kinder spielerisch ins Gespräch kommen und Mathe üben. Außerdem finden es die Jungs witzig als Piratenkapitän die wertvolle Schiffsladung zu stehlen. Wirklich schön und kurzweilig für lange Winterabende.
