Kuranda Chewproof Bed - Silver Aluminum - 40" x 25" - Cordura Nylon - Smoke

So, I looked at so many reviews of different dog beds that I think I started dreaming about them. I finally decided on the Kuranda XL chew proof bed and couldn't be happier. Plus, bonus points for it not just being built in the USA but in my old hometown in Maryland. When the box arrived, I was a bit concerned - it was a shipped in a tall, thin box but seemed really lightweight. I unpacked the box and realized that although it was lightweight, it was constructed really well. The instructions said it takes 15 minutes to put together but I took my time (I tend to put things together backwards first) so it was a bit longer for me. Thankfully, the instructions were easy to follow and I got it together on the first try. I was so pleased to see how well it's made. My GSD jumped right on as soon as the 4 legs hit the ground. The XL was a perfect fit for her - she's 1 1/2 years old and about 65 lbs. I really liked that it doesn't sag in the middle when she sits on it (don't want to give my baby girl a complex - some of the other beds I looked at sagged so much that it looked like their dog needed to cut back on the cheeseburgers). The thing that really made me take notice of this brand was my local humane society has this bed on their wish list - I figure, if the humane society wants it, it must be really good! Overall, it is expensive but in this case, you get what you pay for and I couldn't be happier. I took a few pics in case anyone else is pouring over reviews like I had been and wanted some visuals (please don't mind my dirty floors!) I haven't had to clean it since it was brand new out of the package, however I can tell the material will be really easy to clean. Hope this helps someone!

Our mini bernedoodle kenneled with this bed and when she was in her “room” and on webcam, spent most of her time on this brand of bed and seemed to really enjoy it. So we got her one for home!Well constructed and easy to assemble. In transit, ours lost its corner pieces but the manufacturer sent replacements overnight and asked if Ibhad suggestions on how the lost could have been prevented based on how the packaging was damaged (which otherwise fully protected the other pieces of the bed.)Pup loves it!

I have 4 Miniature Pinschers ranging in size from 6 lbs to 16 lbs (2 are the parents and the other two are their son & daughter). Little sis is a chewer and thinks anything with stuffing must have it removed, so traditional dog beds don't work because she just shreds them in a matter of minutes. Once she gets started, mom helps her out. We bought a cheap child size cot from Walmart but within 6 months, the girls had chewed the plastic framing apart and tore up the canvas. The Kuranda is made of outstanding materials and they haven't even attempted to chew on it (which would be impossible since its an aluminum frame). With the strong cordura fabric fitting inside the framing there's nothing for them to get a hold of to chew on there and they haven't even tried chewing or digging on it. We also love that it cleans up easily by hosing it off if needed and it dries quickly. When we call "bed time," they all run right to it, hop on & cuddle up. They look very happy, comfortable & content! Doggie bed problem solved!!!! We bought the largest size so they all fit on it and have room to stretch out if they want. I read some reviews that people had problems putting it together. My husband and I worked on it together and it was very quick and easy. Everything fit together well, so no problems here.

This thing will never come apart. It wasn't easy for me to put together since I am not good at that kind of stuff, but my friend got it set up in about 20 minutes. It takes a minute because it's not going to come apart. Ever. Holds my 110lb dogs no problem..I am going to get a larger one too. Definitely an investment piece if you have dogs. Cannot be chewed up. Washes nice..no rust

My male 8 month old 60 pound Labradoodle is unable to destroy this bed to the best of his ability. So far he has gone through indestructible dog beds every month. This particular bed I have had outside for three months and there’s not a single tear in it nor has he been been able to chew and eat it.

I've had the PVC version for 3.5 years and it's held up well. I decided to go for the aluminum this time for the second bed to be even sturdier as my dogs are very rough on them. It was difficult to get the fabric stretched enough to get the last corner on but once done it was perfect. I understand the fabric being sized so close because it provides a good surface without too much sag by being so tight. Worth the effort. My dogs love their Kuranda beds, they seem to like being off the floor and they love to leap onto and off of them, especially while playing and chasing. They lie on them bare but prefer a pad of some sort on top. I did try a less expensive and very popular brand of elevated bed but it only lasted 8 weeks before it broke. Since my PVC Kuranda has lasted so long I have even greater expectations for this aluminum one.

We have a 100 pound German Shepherd who loves this bed which is perfect for him. He took to it right away and doesn't fight us when we tell him to "go to bed".Although my husband and I are both elderly, the bed went together without a hitch with both of us working on it together. The package did not come with directions, but I had seen a video of the assembly when I was scouting for the dog bed. We did not even need written directions because it was easy enough to remember from just seeing the video before we has bought the bed. We highly recommend this be for your dogs.

Finally found a Dog bed that is not destroyed in a matter of hours or a few days. This is wonderful! My dogs love it and I will be saving for another one. Being used by German Shepherd dogs that are chewers. They move this around and zero issues with it. Easy to assemble and clean. Thanks for such a great product and my only wish is that I would have discovered this a long time ago. I would have saved hundreds in cloth dog beds.

My working dog destroyed the first raised bed in 15 minutes. He is 90lbs and very destructive. He has tried to dig thru the bed on maaany occasions. He simply gives up an lays down on it and falls asleep. This is a great and durable bed.

Easy to assemble...looking very good ... very solid...my dog loves it...yes it is expansive!!! But it is worth every penny... thanks for this perfect product. Fits very well with my german shorthair pointer wich is a big chewer who already destroy a lot of cushions bed...before earing about this aluminium bed we really taught that our baby would have to sleep the rest of his life on hardwood floor

My sweet border collie would eat his bed every week. He is well exercised - runs and plays on farm all day with many short training sessions mixed in for fun. He has great toys. He is on a balanced diet. We set up this bed (easy) and he hasn’t even tried to chew it. Well worth it!!!!
