She always eats this up
No matter what mood or stage she's in - broody and setting (non-fertile) or super-active - my Eclectus eats this food completely and reliably. All other types get picked over and large amounts left uneaten, so there's the wasted expense on the one hand and the concern about what she's getting nutritionally on the other. She particularly like this food soaked, from a little to a lot of water (it grows up to 3x the size when fully hydrated). I took the cue from finding this one type of food in her water dish several times and now prepare it for her when she's setting on eggs (non-fertile). I was initially worried about the food dyes and still would prefer it non-dyed but she loves this food so much and it saves me such other concerns that I just shrug my shoulders and give in to all the good factors. Am grateful to have this reliable standby among the foods I buy for my bird, especially since up to half of everything else it seems goes to the compost.

Gumby's Favorite Pellet!
My eccy is a very picky eater that quickly tires of pellets and will dump the whole bowl to the floor to show his disapproval. He is also a plucker. He LOVES Pretty Bird Eclectus! This is the only pellet that he will eat consistently and gets excited about! I was worried at first about the bright colors that there might be food dies in the this food and that is why I avoided trying it for so long. Thankfully all of the dies are natural and I am so sorry that I haven't tried this food sooner! It is so hard to meet an eccies diet requirements and this food really helps! He loves the colors and shapes of the pellets and they smell so good I almost want to try it! Not to mention that ever since I have started him on Pretty Bird Eclectus I have seen ALOT more feather growth! I will continue to feed Gumby this food along with his fresh fruit n veggies, mash, volkman's eclectus seed, and what ever we are having for dinner!

My Eclectus loves it :-)
I just adopted an Eclectus who was being fed hamster food from the supermarket. I'm not kidding. I knew that was bad for ANY bird but especially the Eclectus diet. When researching his dietary needs I found out about this food. It's the above and beyond Eclectus food.First impressions: smells super fruity as soon as you open the bag. Makes my little guy's head smell like fruity pellets as well. He loves them. Goes for them right away. He also prefers them over the Zupreem fruit pellets I feed my other birds. He makes "soup" with them, but all my birds do that with their pellets.I just wish they were a little bit cheaper and easier to find. I'm glad Amazon has them since the other big name online pet stores have dropped the Eclectus version.

Not impressed
Did not like the smell. My eclectus wasn't too impressed either.

A favorite pellet food for my eclectuses.
My eclectuses love this brand of dry parrot food. The colorful shapes are consumed, and seemed to help with keeping the eclectus look healthy, feather and weight-wise. I do purchase seed mixes to compliment pellet diet and provide variety, but use the Pretty Bird brand as the primary pellet food.

This pellet has no nutritional value!!
Please do not buy!! I have been feeding my ekkie Zupreem and Roudybush for years but she seemed bored so I tried this colorful pellet for a change. She has been on it for 3 months and is now in the vet holding onto her life because of calcium deficiency because of pretty bird. My vet told me that no vets help with the production of this pellet and is not recommended for ekkies. Please stay away to make sure your ekkie doesn’t suffer like mine is :(
