Not a replacement for the Netflix series. Advise watching the show before playing the game as some of the in game cutscenes are not as impactful. Example: when El goes into the pitched black area of the upside downGame is a 16-bit story based beat em' up RPG adventure with an isometric top down viewFollows major events of season 3 show on Netflix. Again, better to watch show first or you may sense a lot of plot holes. No voice acting, but the series theme song plays throughout.Gameplay:Mix combat, fetch quests and/or puzzles. These serve as behinds the scenes filler for the show/main plotCharacters have different attacks and specials. Some of which are needed to solve simple puzzles. You have to backtrack for collectables as some areas are blocked off until you unlock a character with a special abilityCombat is basically a button masher. Most effective way to defeat enemies is a hit-and-run tactic. Each character have different attack speed, damage and range. Range characters are more effective in my opinion. Some attacks/abilities are super effective against some enemies vs others, but the hit-and-run tactic is your best bet; or at least in my play throughAble to switch between characters on the fly, but you share same health bar.Puzzles involves hitting switches, searching for clues and use of special abilities to open locks doors, vents, etcThere are side quests and collectables in the gameCollect party trinkets: permanent upgrade to statsThere is a crafting system. UI interface a bit oddGame will last around 5-6 hours for main campaign. 1-2 additional hours if you want to collect everything and do additional side questsGood game to play if you're a fan of the series, and will hold you up until season 4

Such a good game, really really good game play....not like a lot of the trash coming out. The only minor downside is that it has zero context...so you might get a little lost if youve not seen stranger things (any of the 3 seasons).Baddies are awesome! And the funfair is super well thought out.Co-op mode is difficult to figure out if you have switch lites btw...another small down side.But who cares, its fun!
