Smile: a graphic novel

This is a really good book. I would totally recommend getting it. I would recommend this book to ages 11-13, I loved it. It is quite a quick read. I would just like to mention that this book is written in a comic book style. I don't think there is any problem with this I just wasn't expecting it. I like this book because it's new and original and very realistic. Definitely worth getting. Buy it! :-) 5 stars

Great story / biography. The trauma of reconstructive dental surgery is the subject of most peoples nightmares, coupled with the mystery of going through puberty and also having to deal with the taunts of your so-called school-friends is certainly character building. A great read for anyone aged between 12 and 17 or anyone really. I love Raina's art style the pacing of the book is perfect too.

This is one of the few graphic novels I’ve got that I’ve not read yet! Thought this was great. As a braves wearer myself (I had 4 teeth taken out!) I totally could sympathise with Raina! A great story about getting braces, friendship, growing up and going to high school.

Was surprised comic style book so not sure if Granddaughter would like it. She really enjoyed it.

I loved the entire book. It was engaging and made me laugh. The illustrations were so personal that it gave me an insight into the authors childhood. All in all, a fantastic book.

My daughter reviewed this for a school project and absolutely loved the book. She found it funny, interesting and it was a completely different style of book to all her schoolmates ones.

Bought for my daughter in year 4. These are aimed a little older but I checked the content and it was fine for her. She loves this book and has read and re-read it several times. She finds Raina easy to relate too.

My daughter picked this book up and didn't put it down until she has read the entire book! My daughter hated to read prior to this book. She reads all the time now thanks to this book. Great narrative, authors writing is great for young children and the storyline very clever! My daughter was also heavily educated about teeth hygiene and how to take care of your teeth also what happens when you don't take care of your teeth. Great book!

Good for school work. My son liked it and chose this one over others because of the good story. The cover is a good quality.
