TEC Color Matched Caulk by Colorfast - Un-sanded - 932 Mocha

The only good thing I can say about this caulking, is the color match. It did match the grout color very well. As for the workability, it is awful. The tube was so full of air bubbles, i would uncover them while smoothing out the joint. It also caused a great deal of waste. With it full of air, it would pour out when not in use. Most caulking will do this to a small degree, but this stuff was under so much pressure, it started to pour out as soon as the tip was cut (before it was even in the gun). As I would stop at the end of the joint, I would immediately release the pressure on the piston of the gun and it would pour out 3-4 inches of caulk before putting the cap back on the tip. This may be an isolated issue with this particular batch (unsanded “light smoke”), but either way, I will avoid this brand in the future.

worked well and basically matched the grout.Follow up- Lasted over a year and looked nice, then it leaked like a sieve. Dried out around tub and shower, cracked, separated from the tub and shower (used in two bathrooms), and water leaked. Had to clean it all out, scrub with denatured alcohol, and use white silicone instead to seal to the tub and shower.The only places it is still working are areas where water never touches it, such as the edges of the tile line where the tile went over the paint. I stopped the actual grout at the edge, taped the painted wall and used this product to get a nice edge on the end of the tiles.

My husband is a finish carpenter and told me to order this - we couldn't find dark gray caulk anywhere in the stores - only light gray. It was a hefty price to pay just for the color because he said it didn't spread smoothly. Guess it's the price you pay for the color.

I ordered this as an alternative to the same color in Lacticrete. It seems to be a fairly good color match, perhaps a little darker.The big problem I have with this caulk is that it is very runny. It tools fairly easily, but it is a nuisance to apply due to the amount that continues out of the tube when you stop applying. I know to release the pressure on the plunger of the caulking gun. I also not only released the pressure, but pulled the plunger back off the end of the tube. The product still continued to leak out of the applicator nozzle.I did not try on vertical surfaces, but this seems to be the consistency of creamy jif peanut butter. I think it would be annoying to tool neatly if a wider joint fill.

I had a difficult time matching the original color of my 12 x 12 granite grout as I wasn't told what the color was originally. I was given other grout colors in tubes for other installed tile and noticed the manufacturer was Colorfast...….. so I searched and found the Colorfast Charcoal Gray product and it matches perfectly. It is the un-sanded grout so it was a little runny but that will happen with un-sanded silicone grout...……. I am totally pleased with the product and grateful I could get it shipped to my home.

Since it’s a color matched caulking I did expect to be pay a little more but was ok with it thanks to the quality. Super easy to use and work with. Looks great and is almost an exact match great product.

Good color match and the tube was pretty full. Unfortunately it was also full of air which made a first pass smooth line impossible. Seems to be holding up, time will tell.

Color match was good, however the caulk shrunk and cracked along the entire bead. I recaulked and it cracked again within a few weeks. Unless you want to recaulk every few weeks I would suggest that you avoid this product.
