Live at the Hollywood Palladium

If you’re a fan of Keith Richards and his Xpensive Winos you will love this collection. The box set includes the vinyl, the cd and some cool collectibles as well. I am happy to have this live concert on vinyl where the sound really sounds amazing. Highly recommended.

This is a terrific boxed set from Keith Richards and the X-Pensive Winos Tour, way back in 1988! Recorded live in LA, this is a great souvenir of a historic place and time when Keith went out on his own with his own group for a quick tour that was fantastic! I know! I saw them in Detroit at the Fox Theatre! Great show! Great musicians! Really, this was a fun tour that showed Keith doing what he loved doing and that is performing and playing live! Again, a great boxed set at a great price! Comes with the live album AND CD! Also has the performance on DVD that you can’t get anywhere else! I had this concert on a special VHS set, was back then. This is even better. Also has some cool add ons included in the box! Highly recommended!

I was excited to receive this set, especially at the price point. However it seemed this was a fire sale due to manufacturing problems.The vinyl in my set contained two copies of the 1st LP, and the 2nd LP was missing.The DVD was unplayable.The music on the CD track “Whip It Up” is missing a few seconds of music that was present on the original cd release.This is a beautiful box set, with great extra materials, but given the problems with the Vinyl, the CD, and the DVD this makes it a 1 star.The CD and DVD issues have been widely reported. The Vinyl problem I encountered just seemed like more evidence of poor quality standards.Shame on BMG for ruining such a promising release.

If you like X Pensive Winos, you areGonna love this box set. If you love Keith Richards, you are really gonna live this box set. If you liked “Love You Live” then you will probably think you’ve died and gone to Rock N Roll heaven. If you are find of kids’ Barney songs, then this is probably notThe right purchase for you, as you will probably wind up a tad disturbed but tapping your toes in syncopation.The band is tight, the riffs commanding, the recording quality vastly impressive, this is worth the entry price.

Nothing beats Keef live. A true classic concert that is timeless!

Live at the Hollywood Palladium is a wonderful collection of Keith Richards material. The boxed set has music from his tour in 1988 with the X-Pensive winos and three previously unreleased tracks. There is a dvd and reproductions of archival material from the tour. We gave it as a Christmas gift to a huge Rolling Stones fan and he loved it!!

Best recording of the Winos

If you don't know what an overly compressed recording sounds like, you might not know why the sound is kind of grating. If you have the original CD, you'll probably hear a difference, but a lot of people don't know or don't care about this sort of thing. The DVD is another matter: like so many, I couldn't get the menu to work at all on an Oppo and a computer. The box and contents are cool. The LP's are the best these recordings have sounded. The extra tracks on the little disc are fine, but if you don't care about the packaging and have the DVD, just buy the vinyl. I paid a little around $60 for this box from Amazon, which I think is a fair value for what you get... if the DVD plays and you don't care how the CD sounds too much. Maybe they'll offer replacement DVD's some day. I wouldn't pay anything like the list price though.

Nice box but the dvd don't work on any dvd player

This is one of the better displays of record sleeve and memorabilia I've seen. All details are top notch, first quality sound etc. Perhaps a little pricey for the number of actual lps and digital recordings. By that I mean bought separately without all the printed materials you'd pay substantially less. I don't mind but if the phony ticket stubs and so on don't matter to you, the vinyl only set is better value.

c'e un grosso problema su questo box particolare nel dvd se avete un buon lettore anche blu ray io ho un pioneer bop 58 e un panacsonic DMR-UBT1EC-K il dvd non da la possibilità' di essere letto se invece avete dei lettori economici senza fare nomi a questo punto problemi non ci sono io avendo comprato per due miei conoscenti questo box un anno fa e non sentendo nessuna lamentela (anomalia) ho fatto la prova del 9 e una volta provato il loro dvd nei miei lettori i dvd sono risultati difettosi tirata di orecchie per BMG casa discografica.
