Anyone trying to use this in a band in a typical music venue will not be happy.
UPDATE... So on the recommendation of a friend, I ended up getting a replacement instead of a refund. Apparently I got a bad one the first time around. My replacement has been working flawlessly for several gigs and rehearsals now. Two more of my band members have gotten this unit on my recommendation and they are both extremely happy with them. Sooooo convenient!! Eliminates the need for a rack to hold the receivers. They perform flawlessly night after night... no drop-outs, sound quality is great and plenty loud. The bad reviews on here are because either they, like me, got a bad one, or they have something in the line not set up right. Some reviewers mention weak signal... there is a switch on the transmitter for "line" or "aux"... this makes a difference in the overall signal strength. Make sure you set it right for your purpose. Get this, make sure all your settings are good, and you will be happy. If you know all your settings are proper, and its not performing well, then you probably got a bad one like I did initially. Again, my replacement has been AWESOME and so have the other two that my fellow band mates purchased. I can't recommend it enough!! You'll never want to go back to a floor monitor! ORIGINAL POST -- I honestly don't know how this product has gotten so many good reviews. I think maybe a lot of them are using them in a more friendly environment... or maybe the factory's quality control is not good and they are making some good ones and some bad ones, and maybe I got a bad one. Very disappointed and returning after initial testing. Description claims range to be 90 feet. Mine cuts out at around 25 feet or so, and that is at my home studio under very controlled conditions. The sound quality is pretty poor also. I wouldn't expect it to be perfect, but I have a rackmounted Xtuga unit that has over 150 feet of range and the sound quality is better and it is actually a 2-transmitter/receiver unit and cost less than this Xvive. I wanted to give this a shot because of its transmitter being so small, battery powered and convenient because it plugs straight into the mixer, eliminating cords and rack etc. The idea is great, but it just doesn't perform as advertised. Maybe I just got a bad one... I don't know. But I did read several reviews from Guitar Center website (after I bought it and tried it... my own stupidity) that stated the same problems, so I'm not gonna waste my time with a replacement. If you play in a gigging band in your typical bars and clubs where there's tons of Wi-Fi and other interference sources in and around the place, don't waste your time and money on this. You won't be happy.

Great sound quality, long battery life at a bargain price!
I am a professional musician and perform in shows at a theater as a steady gig (plus additional freelance work) and have used this Xvive U4 as my in-ear system for a few years now. This is my second set. I purchased the second set of these as a back-up (which I have never needed) and because the original one that I was using developed a loose and scratchy volume/gain knob. Please understand that this only happened after using these on a daily basis for a couple of years. The original still works fine, but I find that the volume control moves too easily. The new ones that I bought to replace the original does not have this issue, but then again....it is new as of a couple of months ago. They have great quality with NO hiss or background interference...easily powers my in-ears with plenty of gain remaining if I ever needed it. Find a clear channel and you are good to go!! Other in-ear monitors cost far more and do not offer any better quality than these. I have been VERY HAPPY with this purchase and have recommended this model to other musicians.

Well built, good range, little to no latency
This is a strong, well built, piece of musical electronic gear. I have had zero issues with range away from the transmissor. Anyone looking for a wireless connection for a decent price, buy this.

Good Budget IEM System
Overall, a very good budget IEM system. Good battery life, and the transmitter and receiver both have RECHARGEABLE internal batteries. I have go four to five hours between charges (and I charge before the units go dead, so I am sure I could get six hours if I pushed it) for the receiver, and the transmitter seems to last even longer.Overall this unit has very good sound quality. If you want to crank the volume with these, I recommend using 3/4 volume on the receiver and adding output gain from your source. Above 3/4 volume on the receiver you start to hear background hiss that is generated by the system. It doesn’t get distracting during playing/playback except at full volume. I tested with it disconnected from any input source to be sure it wasn’t something else in the signal chain. Under 3/4 volume the hiss is not really noticeable at all. I just upped the output volume from my console to allow more headroom under that 3/4 threshold.Range seems OK for my use, but I’m using in my basement studio and am never more than 20 or 30 feet from the transmitter. Placement is key to ensuring good range and connectivity. If you shove the transmitter in the back of rack and out of line of sight, you will have less range than having the unit in line of sight. That’s just a limitation of the 2.4Ghz spectrum combined with such a small transmitter and receiver.Pros: very good sound quality at low and moderate volumes; great low frequency reproduction (if you have decent IEMs with good bass response); solidly constructed; good battery life; six frequency bands in the 2.4Ghz spectrum; compact and lightweight (but solid).Cons: noticeable hiss with receiver volume above 3/4 volume; limited range compared to more expensive UHF units; 2.4Ghz spectrum is crowded and has greater potential for interference, especially in crowded venues.

Works Great at a great price.
Works great. Having hear loss is a problem for me. I've needed some in ear monitors to help me continue playing with my band, while being protective of what hearing I have left. At the same time I have a limited budget. This IEM works very well for me and the cost was very affordable.
