Best Blackvue Camera Yet!
I'm a long time Blackvue customer. Their cameras keep getting better and better. This is best by far! I easily installed it myself and made it so it is powered all the time using the alternate Batt and ACC wiring harness. I love the setting options that are now provided such as battery level checking which will make the unit power off if the battery drops to a certain level. I also like the ability to set whether to overwrite old Event files if the SD card gets full. That is huge! I was always having to reformat the SD card for fear that the card would get full of untouchable Event files and not record anything. The 4K video file recording is the main reason I got the camera. The normal HD video files of the older cameras had a hard time showing license plate numbers unless the car was directly in front. It's an expensive unit, but you get what you pay for...

Best Dash/Rear Cam Setup
Extremely well made & intelligently designed. Relatively easy to install & no ridiculous suction cup mount. Reasonably priced. Video quality is superb. Phone app (Android) was a little challenging to get setup but tech support was knowledgeable, patient & polite. Camera should come standard with 256 micro SD card, not offered as over-priced option. Eventually, a similar system will be offered as a factory-installed option in every car but util then, this is the system to purchase & install. It will pay for itself the 1st time some clown tries to accuse you of causing an accident that was their fault.

Customer service is not capable of standing behind their âhighendâ product. No accountability!
The camera is a solid and well built unit in deed. The ease of setting up is straightforward and easy to set up for a first time user as long as the directions are followed. I purchased this unit along with the 4G SIM card transmitter separately to get the most of this systemâs ability. Unfortunately the front facing cameraâs picture quality was not as described. This unit describes the front facing camera to be of the highest resolution between the two... but that proved to not be the case (in my case). In fact, the rear facing camera look crisper and sharper than the from facing camera. The front facing camera looked to be something closer to 720p and nothing close to 1080P, let alone 4K. I contacted Amazon and their only option was to contact the manufacturer and have them deal with it. Manufacturerâs contact was for that in China somewhere and were closed during North American business hours. Finally was connected with someone via email and the option last then were to send a video in some awkward file type and upload to some email and sent to them for verification prior to them taking any steps at rectifying the issue. There was no attempt to have the item sent in for service or an exchange on their part. This was way to much of a hassle for someone that works 12-14hrs a day to say the least. This unit was supposed to serve as a way to keep myself accountable and those in which I come into contact with on a regular basis and this company could have cared less. To have spent over $600 for a unit that turned out to be of subpar quality to me was highway robbery. This company needs to do better regarding their handling of customer related issues (especially for newly purchased products). Poor poor poor customer service.

Excellent resolution and image quality. Expensive, but mostly worth it.
I bought the BlackVue DR900X kit with two cameras, as well as an aluminum mounting bracket. It's performed extremely well for me. The only complaint I have is that the image quality suffers a bit if you don't buy a polarizing filter for both the front and rear cameras. In particular, the rear camera really needed it in my Mazda3 as I was having all kinds of glare and reflections from the glass. Polarizing lens cleared that up immediately.Overall the camera works very well in all lighting conditions. The impact sensing is EXTREMELY sensitive by default, so you will have to dial it down considerably in order for the camera to not sense an impact when driving over bridge expansion joints or small potholes. I've become used to not slamming my car door shut when I park -- this is easily detected too. The software is generally quite good and though I don't use the cloud capabilities (which are quite good, I just don't want to pay for a 5G hotspot in my car), it's easy to connect to the camera via WiFi and download or view the videos.Generally I'm very happy with the purchase. It's pretty expensive, but I think it's mostly worth it. It would be nice if the SD card it came with was a bit bigger -- this would be a great way to make the price a little less painful. Still, if you have the money, it's a worthwhile investment for the peace of mind.

Great camera - has pros and cons; read my review.
Pros;-Quality is excellent and I love the fact that it just starts recording automatically a few seconds after starting the car.-Also love having the front and rear caneras. Iâve already recorded and reported to the police an aggressive driver, sending them the video as evidence.Cons;-Expensive, but I think the higher cost is a result of making it better than other dash cams.-Front camera is 4k but the angle is so wide and covers so much area, the final resolution ends up looking more like 1080p. My GoPro has a âview angleâ setting for âmediumâ and âlinearâ that I wish this camera had.-Pretty much every recording is an âeventâ because the factory settings on the g-sensor are too high. Actually - I think it is just too sensitive; driving over bumps sets it off at any setting above â2â on the impact sensor settings. I set it at â1â and still occasionally see videos recorded as âeventsâ in normal driving.-Additional battery purchase ($200+!) is required if you want to record when the vehicle is switched off, for parking mode when away from the vehicle. Wish there was a more economical option. I didnât buy it because it didnât seem worth the cost just for recording while parked.Otherwise Iâm pretty happy with it.
