LGB 70503 Construction Site Train Starter Set

I got a nasty shock when Parcel Force asked for VAT before they would deliver. No mention of VAT being extra in the pruduct advertisment. At the advertised price, it would have been very good value, Having VAT at £46-17 brought the total to £235-17. Not so good. Several online retailers had the set at £20 less including the VAT. As the Gandchildren were visiting and looking forward to playing with the set, I paid up.I should have read the Review's, as another customer allso got stung this way.The Garden Railway Set itself is good quality and the Grandchildren love it.

A good value for money item.

Set arrived a day early but that was fine. Great quality and Grandchildren and I are really enjoying it.

This is a good item but Amazon mislead about the price you have to add £52 to total before it is delivered. Import tax I do feel Amazon should mention this in the sales literature

The product description for this item states that this product is a "B" gauge starter set, which it's not. What you're buying is an elementary "G" gauge (as in garden, although it works indoors too) model/toy train set which, otherwise, is pretty much as described here on the Amazon website. In fact, as far as starter sets of this type are concerned, this is a very nice product. Indeed, for an asking price of £176.85 - e.g., £134.87 (item price) + £12.50 (P&P) + £ 29.48 (VAT @ 20%) - it is by far the best value starter set in the LGB range that can be purchased "as new" from any retailer.Admittedly, you don't get a classic "Stainz" locomotive, but the alternative provided (a smaller variant) is perfectly adequate, as are its two matching wagons (provided with optional transfers to apply logos, etc., if you so desire). However, the remainder of the set - which comprises of a circle of genuine LGB 600mm radius track (12 × R1 curves with additional track clips that you may well not need), a basic controller (and transformer), track power connector clips and even some smoke oil - is exactly the same as provided as standard in all of LGB's other starter sets, all of which carry much heftier price tags. It's also very easy to set up.My only criticisms are that: 1/ The starter set was not supplied with a UK mains plug, although I have no idea why this was. No matter, I had a spare adaptor; and, anyhow, these are easy to get a hold of; so it would have been easily dealt with. However, no so nearly so trivial was: 2/ The letter I received from HMRC demanding settlement of the VAT (which I had already paid as per the invoice provided by Amazon). This little "surprise" added just under £50 to the price and, to be honest, nearly ruined an eagerly anticipated experience of receiving and setting up a first ever G gauge train set.

Damit können die Lütten gut anfangen.

Ein sehr schöner Zug, seit ich den habe , fährt er täglich einige Stunden . Habe noch den passenden Bagger und Lore dazu gekauft . Nun werde ich nach und nach ausbauen .

Eigentliche Fahrfunktion und Aussehen ok , aber in der Produktbeschreibung ist ein Textbaustein über Zusatzfunktionen zuviel.Kein Sound und Dampfmodul enthalten

Nach Lieferung des Startersets die Bahn direkt getestet, Gute Qualität, einfaches Stecksystem, sehr Robust.Es fiel mir jedoch auf das die Produktbeschreibung nicht wirklich stimmt. Es ist bei mir leider kein typischer Dampflok Flair der durch Sound und Dampfmerkmale hervorgerufen wird, dies unterstütz mein erhaltenes Set nicht, genauso ist die Lampe der Lok keine LED Lampe sondern schlicht und einfach eine normale Birne.Fand ich sehr Schade da ich nun ein Sound-Tender auftreiben muss.
