I've had a few different ratchet belts but this is the best version! love how easy it is to open the buckle or release the belt! Looks great too says it real Leather too ( don't know if its true but seems to be) this is the second belt I bought! They are great

Great for those who's waist line fluctuates a bit. You can slide the belt through the buckle to get an exact fit. If you're on a diet and thinning your wasteline, you won't need to find a way to punch new holes in the belt. You just slide it in a bit further and the rachet mechanism locks it in place. Takes a little practice to get the belt to maneuver through the mechanism but you get the hang of it after a short while.

I won't be going back to old style belts. If, as some suggest, it doesn't last as long as traditional belts, I'll just buy belts like this more often. Love it!

There are two different ratcheting belt technologies. I hate the style if there is a button or lever on the bottom of the belt that can be tricky to get into release mode. I love the style where you lift up / out the face of the buckle itself. I have four of this technology and have returned any gifts of the other style. Look on the bottom of the buckle, if there is something that is not onthe top, dont buy it. Best part of Ratchet belts is that ther is no visible wear where holes would come through on standard belts.

Edit: As I mentioned in my review, I ended up cutting the belt shorter than I should have. I mentioned this to the company and they sent an entire new belt for free! It's great that they cover mistakes like this.This is my second belt from these folks and I love them both. I'll never go back to standard belts after using ratchet belts. This one has soft leather - it's not stiff. I didn't have any problems with the ratcheting mechanism slipping like someone else mentioned, but I also don't hang gear from my belt. I like the look of the leather and the buckle especially. The only thing I think should be changed about this is that the ratcheting strip should continue farther toward the end of the belt. As it is, you have to feed about 4" of the belt through before it starts ratcheting. It should be more like 3" or 2.5". I recommend cutting the belt a little longer than you expect and then trying it out a couple of times before shortening it any further. I ended up with an amount of "tail" that looks good, but it means I only get one or two ratchets in before it's at the right size. Thicker pants might mean I can't buckle it at all. Thankfully, the company will send you a free replacement if you accidentally cut it too short if you email and ask. Oh, I also wish there were some higher quality brown leather belts available - I'd pay more for the nicer leather.

This is almost a great belt, but just comes in as dam good. One part is purely subjective and that is the belt width. While the difference between this belt and others is only a few mm it does feel much narrower than expected. The clasp seems to be solid and would need a hefty wack to loosen accidentally but only time will tell as to durability. My previous Costco example failed with metal fatigue after just one year.So far the only real downside is the finish on the leather. It is very delicate and easy to remove from the edges if you miss feed the belt through the buckle, I guess that is another downside miss feeding is easy and the belt has to be pulled tight rather than pushing through.

It was easy to adjust the size to fit. Easy to put on and take off. I have ordered another one.I recommend this belt.
