LASCO0-1029NL No Lead Aqua Seal Stem Repair Kit with Seats for American Standard Brand

Had a faucet dripping for years to the point that I would shut off the water supply to faucet. I assumed it was so old that I wouldn't find parts for it and it was going to be a nightmare to get to for changing out the whole faucet. This took only a few minutes and I look like a hero to my wife because you can take a bath without using a step stool to turn on the water first!

When the originals wore out in my bathroom sink, I thought finding replacements for the very old fixtures would be tough. I was relieved to find these without too much searching, and they were easy to install. Perfect fit, and no more fighting the bathroom sink.

Since Crane was bought by American Standard and their entire line replaced, I thought I'd never find replacement parts. But, these Aqua Seal seats, rings and rubber seals fit perfectly. I had to watch a Youtube video or two to figure out how to replace the O-rings, but the rubber seal end-caps and the seats were easy to replace. At first, I had tried "filing down" the original seats to remove the nicks and corrosion. That was a waste of time and ultimately didn't work. It only took a few seconds to screw in these new seats and it was like a new faucet; well, not really. . .but as good as one could hope for with a 60-year old fixture.

The ones I had since 1985 lasted 35 years, these new ones last 2 years on the hot side.Why ?
