Kaffe Fassett's Quilt Grandeur: 20 Designs from Rowan for Patchwork and Quilting

For sheer eye candy alone this book is worth it
I, like many other reviewers, have a shelf full of Kaffe Fassett books, but for some reason this one resonated with me. Maybe it is the time of year, or how the location was used so well to display the quilts. Maybe it is because I have so many of the fabrics in the various lines of fabric described! But I've read this one through a couple of times in the two weeks I've had it, and actually am piecing together one of the quilts shown! Many reviewers complain that the patterns are very template driven, which is true, and that does not keep up with so many of us who rotary cut and strip piece. But I've found that if you take some time to break down the patterns, if you have some quilting skills you can make the patterns work out for you with just a bit of focus. Many of the patterns are not for those new to quilting but this book also points to some that are good for a beginning quilter, so besides the eye candy, some real doable projects. And for me, sometimes I just need a dose of pretty to get me going creatively and this book does the trick! It was an indulgence purchase and I was not sure I really needed another Kaffe book, but I'm truly enjoying it - and using it!

This is the most beautiful quilt book I have ever purchased!
I have looked at this book several times on the Amazon website, the photo does not do it justice. This is one of if not the most beautiful book I have purchased. The photography is incredible, this scenery bright and interesting. The fabrics and quilts are beautifully displayed and presented in a creative way. I am now a convert to Kaffe Fassett's fabrics and quilts. I can't wait to make the Lorna Doone Quilt. Kudos to the photographer and stylist, I am usually a conservative traditional quilter, but this book has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and get a little modern. I love the contrast between the historic location and the pop of the Modern, yet traditional beauty of these quilts. The burst of color and design, makes this quilter want to run to her sewing room and get going.

Another Beautiful Book
'Quilt Grandeur' is set in the English country side in the estate of Port Eliot and the pictures are beautiful as are the quilts. There is also fabric selections and descriptions, a lesson on substituting selected fabrics included and templates for the patterns included. The quilts are different from other Kaffe books and include something for all range of talents. If this were your first Kaffe book you could be inspired just looking at this book. I like this book but my all time favorite is Kaffe Fassett 'Quilts in the Sun'

Wonderful ideas.
Make something from this book, or use it for great inspiration. I used it for great inspiration, even used different fabric along with some of Kaffe's fabrics to make a baby quilt. Turned out so cute. But to be honest, I've collected Kaffe fabric for almost 20 years and think his fabric makes the most interesting quilts. This is one of his best books.

Absolutely beautiful!
I haven't quilted in years but this book makes me want to reconnect with quilting. Regardless of whether you're a quilter, this is the kind of book that you just want to get your cup of coffee, sit in a comfy chair, relax and enjoy the stunning eye candy. You'll drool and want to cozy up with a number of these quilts. Also a perfect book to leave bedside in the guest room or an inviting spot in your sewing room. Enjoy!

I love the return to Britain
OF course its a visula feast . Of course I ran ut and gathered all my fabric and cut and sewed n a frenzy. I love the return to Britain , the quilts almost have a shabby - chic look in those grand old house . Or maybe the houses look old a frumpy next to the gorgeous , luscious quilts . Always a pleasure

Another great book from Kaffe Fassett. An interesting read and the projects are very interesting too. I think most quilters could successfully attempt them.

Another Good Book
I alqays love Kaffe's quuilting books. They are a it more unusual than traditional quilts. I thought this one was a little more old-fashioned than his superb book on Shots and Stripes
