Great purchase!
This filter was super easy to install if one is the least bit mechanically inclined. It took me a couple minutes to remove my shower head, install the filter body, flush It, and reattach my shower head. This filter did drop my shower head about 3" which affected me a little bit. I do have to bend down a touch when I am washing my hair. For some people, that might be a big deal, but I do not mind for the perceived benefit. My water is from a municipal source. My water has a bit of iron and lime scale in it. I will be able to tell if if it is keeping some of that stuff out of my shower water. I did shower with this once. The water did have a softer feel than normal, and my shower literally did feel more refreshing than normal. I do not have a chlorine tester or other fancy water testing device, and I can only go by how things feel. However, I will be able to check for iron staining after using it for awhile as the filter claims to reduce iron.I also read a lot of reviews from people who have well water that installed this filter and complained about having no filter life. I am guessing they need a pretty large whole house filter to block a lot of impurities in their water.Edit: I did buy a water testing kit. I tested for a few things. Anyway, this filter did remove chlorine. I also want to state that I did test warm shower temperature water as I know that some filters cannot filter out chemicals in warm or hot water.Edit 2: I used my filter for about 7 months. I live alone and typically shower about twice a day. I decided to swap out my filter before it "went bad". It still seemed like it was filtering chlorine, but I did not want to chance it. Obviously, someone with worse water quality might have a shorter filter life. I also installed a new shower head when I installed this filter. I went with a 1.5 gpm model to help slow the water down a touch and to help improve filtering. My shower head never gummed up, since I installed this, with lime scale which is a first for me as my area has ridiculously hard water. Also, there have been no iron stains in my shower since I installed this. Yes, it does pull that stuff out of the water.Edit 3: I am still happy with this system and have used it for about 4 few years without problems. I alleviated my shower height issue by installing a goose neck shower pipe which raised my showerhead several inches. I wish I would have done that years ago.Lastly, I have seen people complaining the filter does not remove any chlorine from their water. You might want to check if your water system uses chloramjnes before getting mad because this filter alone won't remove chloramines.

Excellent for iron removal
I have insanely soft well water that has a crazy amount of iron in it. This has been the only shower filter out of several that I've tried that actually removes almost all of it. It only lasts me about 50-60 days before I have to switch the filters out, but it's worth it as it is saving my skin, hair and keeping me from having to scrub iron stains off my bathtub every week. The only issue is that I can see that will be an issue in the next few filter changes is the holder itself. It's plastic, and where the case screws back together, I can already see leaks from the edges where there were none to begin with. Eventually, I imagine I'll have order a whole new product- so I took 1 star away for that.

Great quality for the price
Of course this filter will not filter out every single thing on the water, but listen it filters enough!! I have well water and I can't install a home water system yet and the water is really hard and have a really heavy metallic smell and this filter does wonders. The water fells fresh, and have no smells. This is a picture of the filter after a month and half. I do have do change it every 2 months cuz my quality of water it's bad. But I never loss pressure, I just notice the smells come back a little bit when it's time to change the filter.

Very pleased so far - easy install, works perfectly
UPDATE - look at the filter after 6 months! I know I have hard water... but this looks like brown crud! My water turns everything a pinkish brown tint. This makes it seem like my water is even worse. Now i feel i need a whole house filter... i am cooking and drinking this stuff?! So thankful for this filter!!ORIGINAL REVIEWI tried one of those handheld showerhead filters a few years back. I loved the difference the filter made but the water pressure was too much compared to my low GPM showerhead and I had to return it. I had been looking for a filter that would do something similar but allow me to use my own showerhead. Enter this AquaYouth filter!INSTALLATION- super easy. You might need a wrench to make sure you can tighten a little more than by hand, but other than that you shouldn't need any tools. Initially it did leak a little bit after install but it just needed an extra tightening, and no more leaking!PERFORMANCE- it doesn't seem to have any affect on water pressure. Initially it is lower while the filter housing is filling with water but then it seems to go back to normal. My public water is extremely hard.. it is full of chlorine and other metals I don't even know. My water eventually turns everything a sort of pink color.. it isn't rust colored, but lighter and more pink. When I was in Florida last year I noticed that the water literally FELT different. I then wondered if the water I shower in is causing a lot of my hair and skin dryness. So far, I notice less tightness in my skin after showering. I haven't noticed anything significant in my hair yet, but will report back. Excited to see what the filter looks like after a few months!
