So I got this along with the Wolf Tooth muli-tool. I like Granite's chain break tool better than Wolf Tooth's but Wolf Tooth's multi tool better. I haven't used this but broke apart an old chain with this to test it out and it works great. The only downside, and this is minor, is it needs a tool to get out. The Wolf Tooth version is friction fit so you just pull it out but with the Wolf Tooth multi-tool in my other bar end I'll just use it to get this tool out.It also comes with both an and cap to cover a bare bar end and one with a bar end with a handle bar. I have a Surly Moloko Bar, which has 4 bar ends, so the top two don't have handle bars so this tool works out perfect. I have Wolf Tooth bar end storage on my lower bars and Granite's for the top so it looks all nice and clean!

Excited to receive this item but I just could not get it to work. Worked kinda the first time but very difficult to get the screw threaded. Its either too short and/or the treads dont hold well. Took me many tries and if it takes that long in my house with good lighting etc its not going to work on the trail. And after the first time I couldnt get it to work again. Time to return it.

I bought this along with the tire plug kit. They're well built and I expect them to last a while.The chain tool does not come with a quicklink, but it has nice spots for the two sides of a quick link to snap into the tool. I was a little wary of the rubber band holding them onto the tool, so I also wrapped that section with some electrical tape.Note that you'll need both a 3mm and a 4mm hex wrench to utilitze the tool - the 3mm unscrews it from the handlebars while the 4mm is used to tighten the chainbreaker bolt. I'm not sure why Granite didn't stick to one size for both of these bolts.A potential issue with this kit is fitting it into the handlebars. As other reviews have mentioned, make sure you measure the internal diameter of your bars to make sure they fit. The tool screws into your bars by compressing a large rubber cylinder (think a half inch segment of rubber hose). It mostly works, but it's impossible to get a high torque value on the bolt to really jam it in there. My torque wrench wouldn't even register 1 Nm before the rubber was completely compressed. Now, it seems like the tool holds its place just fine, but I'd like to see a better design that's able to hit, say, the 4-5 Nm range. I believe the rubber is just too thin - a thicker rubber cylinder might work better.

Great little product that has the benefit of multiple storage options - handlebar, crank etc.I have been storing in my cranks and any worries that it will fall out have been relieved - even on most extreme terrain it stays put and is easy to access and does exactly what it is designed for handling.

Tool is sturdy and well built. My problem is the rubber stoppers and end caps - the end caps are slightly to large for my grips and the rubber stoppers don't work well; they pop out easily and i am worried will lose it on the trail. I will instead keep this in my hip pack along with the granite stash tire puncture tool. Was really hoping i could keep these in my bars and out of my pack, but they are good tools nonetheless.

Bought as a gift for my son who wanted to stop caring so much gear while MTB. Son loves them "Awesome surprise gift". Quality is top notch, fits perfectly into the handlebars, and couldn't be easier to install. Highly recommend.

This s tool is tiny and looks very weak, hiding it in the handlebars defeat the purpose, you still need to carry two other tools in a pouch to make this work,, so with that being said, why not just buy the proper chain breaker and have one tool to store in a bag ?! You will need this chain breaker, an Allen key to remove the grip and another one to use to turn the screw to break the chain,, that’s 3 tools instead of one 😩🤦🏿‍♂️

Das Tool ist leicht und durchdacht. Besonders gut finde ich die Möglichkeit, ein Kettenschloss direkt am Tool zu verstauen. In den Lenker geschoben und festgeschraubt macht es keinerlei Klappergeräusche.Ich habe zum Test eine 12-fach Kette gemietet. Das Werkzeug funktioniert ordentlich. Es ist sicherlich nicht dafür ausgelegt, täglich Dutzende Ketten zu nieten, aber für den Notfall ist es absolut einsetzbar.Klare Kaufempfehlung
