Apollo Horticulture Purple Reign 6W MR16 LED Grow Light Bulb for Plant Growing

The beam angle is well over 120deg, which means that unless the bulb is only a few inches way from a low growing plant, or used inside a reflective grow tent, most of the light will be dispersed throughout the room and wasted. Would be great product if they could focus the beam down to 60deg or better.Update: I have found a few practical uses. Like I said, its not well suited for a houseplant out in the open, but it makes an ok refugium light for macro algae if positioned a few inches above to water. Also, if you need something for starting seed flats or growing moss indoors, it could work, but the light distribution will be about 18 inches at a 6 inch hight and not uniform (hot spot in center/inverse square law radiating out). It's an ok light for $9, but I wouldnt pay much more than that.

I bought this grow light for my aloe vera that I've had for 6months when I brought it home from the window of my office.I now have my aloe in my living room, and with the help of the grow light it has been doing okay. I dont think I would use it as a complete replacement for sunlight, I am only using it temporarily until it is warm enough outside to leave my plant in my backyard.I have been using this grow light for about a month now and although my aloe has not seen drastic growth, it seems to be doing alright. At times my leaves seem to deflate, but I think it's getting used to the new environment and light source.The bulb itself is easy to install and incredibly bright. I have it 1-2 feet away from my aloe and it is able to cover my 6'' pot aloe.

So far these plant bulbs are impressing me. I've been checking my plants to see if they are turning toward the light, and they are. I will be getting more as soon as I have the funds to do so. I have some plants that are 30+ years old that keep growing toward the windows to get much needed light even though I have had grow lights pointed at them. These bulbs are giving the plants what they need to thrive. Plus they haven't burned out like the ones I've gotten at the hardware store. I waited on purpose to give a review to see how my plants responded. Hooray!

Nice even light and draws the exact wattage it claims. However, this light got hot! Over 120F, too hot to touch without gloves. For the price I'd say it's a very good deal, but if heat is a concern this might not be the light for you. Other more expensive LED grow bulbs remain cool at room temperature.

I use 2 of these in ceiling mounted spotlight holders to shine on a collection of African Violets and other houseplants on a bureau top. Great price and lasts a couple of years of 10 hours per day use.

Gets a bit hot but u can really tell a difference in few days would. Have bought agin but out stock.....had to change my rating late went to flashing on and off like a strobe light just happens put of the blue
