I've found the lighter the mask the better, provided it is strong enough. This mask is lightweight, comfortable, and strong . Both my boys use it, it's "cooler" than the hockey style, me being older and not having to impress anymore, I prefer the hockey style, but I keep this mask in my bag as a back up (I've actually had the metal grill break after 2 direct hits on my old Wilson titanium. So it's a good mask at a good price and this is why I've bought 3 and will buy more as need arises.
