Very pleased with sturdiness. I have no trees in an area to make a cable run. Fencing would cost a fortune and I wanted a good sized area for my puppy to play and find shady spots as the sun moves. I came up with the idea of a Ground Run alternative and it works awesome. I took 2 of these ground screws, placed 30 feet apart, connected a 30 foot cable, and got a 10 foot cable with swivel hardware at both ends of it for the puppy. I attached one end to the 30 foot cable and I have a great run. She has 30 x 20 feet of yard to run and play. Keeps her just inside the lawn area and out of the gardens. She will be a big dog so if you do the same make sure everything is rated for adult weight or more. I like that the tops of these fold down to mow etc., But I just mow right alongside the ground line. She poops at the sandy end so no dragging the line through poop. She had had no problems with this setup either. Been a month and no problems with any of the hardware or cables. Just check hardware periodically for damage or weakness. I may add extra clips on each piece so if one breaks the other is still attached. These ground screws work great in hard, compact soil. Wet soil allows for movement so keep that in mind when picking a spot. I find having the weight distributed between 2 of these on a long line is much better than if a dog is always pulling at one. Much more secure this way.

These 'safety orange' color anchors were rapidly delivered, and have exceeded my expectations at every point. They are super heavy duty, and can work to anchor all kinds of things.I purchased the 16" version, as I live on a barrier island and my yard is about 75% sand. No problem, the first couple of inches of the corkscrew went in by hand, then I had to resort to the enclosed leverage rod to sink them until the base of the heavy duty attachment rings sat on the landscape fabric. When those bases sat flush, there was no moving them beyond that point. They were permanent at that point, If I chose. I used 4 anchors ( 1 per corner) to anchor my veggie garden shade frame, measuring about 7' 6" x 6' tall. Located in a high wind area, I tied the frame to the anchors using heavy duty UV resistant ties. I have every confidence this frame's going nowhere!

I bought these to secure a large a-frame that held two banners for our church. We get a lot of storms here in Florida and the steaks I had couldn’t handle it. I used only 2 of these on opposing corners and they are doing a great jobs they are plenty big enough and more than sturdy enough. Easy to install with the small bar that is included.

I use these to tie down a 10x20 portable garage. The garage might blow away but the augers won't move.

Very sturdy on any type of soil, and not too hard to install but you’ll have to use some effort and good luck if you hit a rock. On sand, which some commenters said it worked great, I would disagree. It kept our tent down at the beach on a pretty windy day, but it shifted a lot and we used other means (ie, sandbag) to keep tent in place. When I went to pull these out at the end of the day, all four came right out without much pulling. That was concerning. On soil, they can be tough to get out which is fine—we want that. But on sand, they plucked out fast and makes us wonder if a hard gust would have kept the tent down with these in. I’d recommend, but on sand I would use backup. I also like the tool they gave to help bury them—that’s a nice touch

I bought these to secure the base of our 12 ft skeleton since the tiny stakes the skeleton comes with are flimsy. These definitely did the trick. These stakes are hardcore and in combination with the metal wire we attached to the skeleton itself, it's not going anywhere.

I am using these for our Christmas inflatables here in Florida. As I am coastal I have no clay, no soil, it is all sand and these work great.

Even if a hurricane rips your tent to shreds anything tied down to these guys is going nowhere.
