Well designed and beautiful clock kit
The media could not be loaded. A well-executed kit. Putting it together was fun and straight forward. I suspect it took me less than the estimated 5 hours to put it together. I had completed one previous ROKR kit, the Grand Prix Car which was smaller and a bit easier.A couple of tips and observations:1) WAXING. Rubbing the gears with the provided wax stick will be frustrating and ineffective. I ended up lighting a white candle and painting the melted wax on the gears. It dried thick and gunky, so I baked it in a toaster oven for 10 - 15 seconds. The Wax would then penetrate the wood, with excess melting off. the result was hard, smooth and slick gears that mesh well. Also remember to wax any holes or flat surfaces where wood will rub.2) WEAK PIECES AND GLUE: Often the top layer of the plywood would delaminate. This can cause problems on small narrow pieces. Keep a small bottle of white glue handy for repairs. Teeth on the "Escape Wheel", the Pendulum and its Pallet fork are particularly fragile. If I had it to do over, I would coat these peices with glue to make them stronger and less likely to splinter.3) GENERAL ADVICE: A few pieces will need sanding to fit smoothly. I recommend using a nail file for most sanding. The instructions are good but can be confusing. Try not to get frustrated. It is easy to put things together backwards or in the wrong order. just take them apart and re-do them. If your boards a warped, some pieces may not fit perfectly. Mine still worked, but some gears did not line up perfectly.

ROKR Owl Clock LK503 is fun
The media could not be loaded. Let me start by saying I enjoyed building this clock and love the way it turned out. It’s an excellent wooden puzzle and the instructions are easy to follow. Once completed it gets lots of “oos, aas & wows”. The instructions have to be followed to the letter. Any deviations will cause problems. Additionally there are a couple of issues that need to be stressed. I will cover those below. The laminated plywood sheets are bare-wood so the first thing I did was spray paint them with clear polyurethane satin so I wouldn’t get the oil from my hands staining the wood. I’ve never been good at working with rubber gloves on as shown in some of the YouTube Videos. I let everything set overnight to dry good. The first issue I encountered was 2 of the sheets had minor warps that didn’t turn out to be much of an issue. Be very careful removing pieces from the sheets because the wood is thin and can be broken. Once removed sand and wax the pieces as instructed. This becomes very important once the pieces are assembled and expected to work together. There are a lot of pieces that have to be inserted in holes and slots. Some are real tight and excessive force can break them (I broke 2 and had to repair with superglue). After that experience I started smoothing the slots out with a small file and sandpaper. Seemed to work fine after that. See D1 PictureFor the timer to work it is critical that parts D1 be sanded completely smooth and thoroughly waxed. Any bumps on their surface will cause the timer to stop. I learned this the hard way and had to go in and fix it. I think the instructions should emphasize this a little stronger. The tip of B2 also need to be sanded very smooth and well waxed because it runs on D2 with enough pressure to keep the alarm from sounding until the pointer reaches 0.See B2 PictureI had 2 issues with the warped sheets. One - is attaching the clock face to the structure. Since B10 was warped it wouldn’t slide in on top without pulling out the lock piece A17 so I filed the slot a little and super glued A17 to the face. It goes in tight but stays together. Probably won’t be an issue if B10 is not warped. Two - the pendulum shaft is warped and doesn’t hang straight. I haven’t figured out how to take the warp out. I not inclined to take any chance of breaking it.I hope this little discussion is helpful. It’s a beautiful clock and a lot of fun to make. Remember the final product will only be as good as the puzzle builder makes it so take your time and be meticulous. Enjoy!!

Beautiful and fun.
Works great! Good build. Took a little longer cause I stained some pieces for contrast and might disassemble parts to stain more. Don't use paint! I would suggest waxing the back of the gear and sanding the four nubs smooth that the main spring rubs against too make sure there's no friction. Very happy with this buy.

Just One Problem
For page 25 on step 12, the picture of it showing to place the gear into the clock but also hitching the "Porch Hook" to the "Time Pointer" looks like a whole new different piece you have to place inside the clock. Just wish there was a assembly video for that part. I found this out by ordering it again and looking to see if I some how lost the piece. But other then that is was fun putting it together.😀

So Much Fun
This puzzle was awesome. Not for small children. And a little more complex than standard puzzles. But totally worth it.

Hard to put together
Hard to put together, can't get Bell to work. Had to take apart and reassemble again several times spring kept getting sprong when winding it up.

Fun project.
This was a fun project to assemble. The pieces are nicely laser cut and fit together very well. I broke one of the arms on the pendulum "tick tock" part, but I was able to glue it back together no problem. (It was my own fault. I tried to adjust the arm so it was more in line with the gear. NOTE: Wood doesn't like to BEND!) However, when I got the entire clock together, everything worked perfectly! Great conversation piece and the clock keeps perfect time.
