Great for electrical work
First of all, ignore other reviews that say this is too heavy and not balanced well.. it’s perfect. This bad little unit rips through deep strut, all thread and emt up to 2” like butter (2-1/2” if you take the guard off I’ve read)It’s well balanced and light enough that cutting something overhead with one hand is easily done and could be don’t so all day long.

Works good
Blade kept jumping on the previous Makita model. They fixed the problem with this one. Really like it

Worth It
Recently switched platforms from DeWalt to Makita and couldn't be happier. As noted in some other reviews there is a balance issue, but once I got accustomed to the feel of this tool I stopped noticing. I love the built in blade guard, which my DeWalt did not have. Overall an excellent tool that cuts smoothly and without hesitation.

A little pricey but worth in
Just like I said in the headline a little pricey but it is worth it specially if you use it every day like I do in the HVAC field it cuts anything from Uni strut to all thread , conduit I mean anything you throw at it it will cut in the speed adjustment is great helps to prevent from burning up your blade so fast set the max speed pull the trigger all the way and go Also two weeks later still on the same blade great product I am just leaving public reviews

I really like this except for one thing
Really makes short work of cutting metal things. I love everything about it but.... Another reviewer noted the balance of the tool, and I have to agree fully with that. I have like 15 Makita tools and this is the first one I have had an issue with. I don't think I would want to use this tool all day, everyday because of the balance issue. The thing I don't understand is why they didn't simply place the battery at the opposite end of handle. I think that would have balanced out the weight of the motor and the saw would be a dream.

Good portable bandsaw for light duty cutting
If you need a saw that is very light and can cut small stock, this one will do the job. I would recommend the full size Makita bandsaw for most work in metal fabrication. The throat opening is only 2 3/4 inches, and the depth of cut is about 3 inches. The bandsaw drive motor is small. Time will tell how durable it ends up being. I use a corded bandsaw or the full size Makita for most work, but this one is handy for cutting small round stock and flat bar.

Cuts like butter.
Its a nice compact band saw. I have only used it a handful of times. It cuts nice and smooth, much easier than a Sawzall. I use it mostly for cutting small items like conduit, threaded rod and unistrut. Its great not having to lug my full size corded saw to roofs and running extension cords. I have had no problem with the blade coming off as reported by users on some models. I will update if anything changes.

I. Love makita but this is the worst situation I have received from Amazon
The tool arrived on time but when I opened it I found as it used before, as in the pictures I submitted ,scratched , dents around the motor exterior case and the hanging hock, also the the U bar above the blade ,and the side handle did not come with the tool,I am not requisting to return but you have to decrease the value of the tool as it used or open box.
