Salt Water ORIGINAL Women's Leather Sandals

I had a pair in red that I wore everywhere for 4 years during springs, summers, and some vacations almost every day. I finally threw them out at the end of this past summer because the stitching on the sole had started to come undone so the sole was coming apart, and the leather on the sole was getting discolored and gross from so much use, though they had cleaned up nicely until then. They are the cutest, most comfortable, and most durable sandals I have ever had. I wear a lot of vintage clothing and because these are such an old design they go seamlessly with any era of clothing, especially 1950s and 60s.I am an 8.5W, narrow-to-regular width, and the pair I had was an 8. They were always pretty loose, but still safe and comfortable to walk in. I was in high school when I got them, so I liked that they were loose because I could easily slip them on and off when I was running off to spend the day with friends or when I was at the beach, wearing them felt like being barefoot. I would recommend ordering them this big only if you are looking for sandals just to wear at the beach or around the yard, you will probably find them to be slightly too loose to wear around town or to be very active in.I ordered a replacement for a trip, and this time I want them to be tighter because I want them to look a little nicer on my foot, and also because I want them to be more comfortable and secure for walking around town. I ordered them in black this time, and I have to say that I love the black leather. Since it is an eggshell finish, they look have sort of an earthy finish to them, they don't look harsh. Initially I ordered a 6, which is 2.5 sizes down from my regular size. These were too small. My toe went past the stitching, and it felt like my foot was spilling out of them. So I am now awaiting a 7, which should be a perfect comfortable fit.My only complaint is the same as everyone else: the packaging is really terrible. They come in an un-padded poly mailer in a very thin shoebox with tissue paper. It is the cheapest possible packaging and the box arrived completely mangled and open, and it is just by luck that the shoes aren't totally destroyed. I don't even think they need a box, they should just come wrapped and in a well-padded mailer.

I am currently on day 8 of a summer vacation in overseas. It has been over 90°F every day and I’ve been walking miles every day. My feet are hot and swollen and sweaty and tired — but my feet are NOT blistered and they are NOT bleeding and they are NOT squishing up against the straps of my sandals. These shoes are PERFECT.I was nervous having never tried this brand before, and I knew I needed some kind of comfortable sandal for this trip. I followed the reviews and soaked the sandals in hot water and then wore them until they dried the day before my trip. I then crossed my fingers and went overseas with a pair of new shoes.They have been perfect since day 1. Every morning when I put these sandals back on, it’s like wearing a pair of old friends (or something). They have molded to my feet perfectly. I have worn them right into the ocean and they were just fine. I have done light hiking over rocky dirt roads and they were just fine. And they are cute!I have wide flat feet and the width of these sandals is a godsend. Usually sandals start to strangle my feet after a day of swelling after walking around in the hot sun but these have been so, so comfortable. I usually wear a 6 or 6.5 and a 6 fits me perfectly.The only downside I have found is that these are not supportive, they are completely flat soles. By the end of the day my feet are a little tired, but at least they are not in pain. These shoes are for sure my 100% go-to sandals.

We LOVE these sandals. They are super durable. I buy them for my kids every other summer - for the first summer, I buy them a size too big, and they last for two years (and would last much longer if they didn't grow out of them). We have walked in these for miles and miles, and have used them in lakes and rivers. My kids have used them as water shoes, and they don't come apart at all. I have a pair for myself, and I have also used them in the water. They do stretch out after getting totally submerged, but not enough to destroy the fit - mine felt a little bit looser after fully submerging them and then walking around, but not enough to need to buy another pair (so if they arrive and feel a little tight - maybe try submerging them and then walking in them till they dry.)As far as the fit, I went to the Saltwater website and used their calculator to determine what size my kids needed - it was super helpful. I love the colors available. We've tried the gold, the tan, the navy, and the rose gold, and they all look great. I will keep putting my kids in these shoes for as long as they will let me - they are the perfect summer sandal!A quick note on the packaging - when I have ordered these in previous years, they have come in a box, and arrived in great condition. When I ordered them this year (June 2018), the shoe boxes arrived in a bag, and were completely demolished. It's a good thing the sandals are so durable, because otherwise they would have been totally destroyed. The shoe boxes were squished and torn apart, and the sandals were just floating around in the bag by themselves. Super disappointing. Five stars for the shoe, and negative five stars for the packaging (and this is the first time I've ever cared enough about the packaging to mention it - sometimes Amazon's packaging is great, sometimes it's not so great, but this time it was truly terrible). I had debated buying a pair of these for years and was always uncertain about their look. I'm glad I finally did. The navy is striking and the design is not only very comfortable but quite flattering. I have not worn them for long periods of time or distance yet but will try in the summer and update review.

I typically wear a US women's 7.5, so based on others' reviews I bought a 5 Youth/7 Women's, and the fit is great. They were a bit tight during the first wear, as is typical with leather, but it only took one day to break them in and they have since been incredibly comfortable. They feel molded to my foot. Sturdy but not heavy, soft inside, functional but cute. The back strap also sits very low on the heel, so it doesn't bother the back of my heel or give me blisters like other sandals have.

jolies , solides, ces sandales qui vont dans l'eau sont d'une extrême qualité! On peut les transmettre dans la fratrie tant elles sont solides!
