Brass Nautical - Telescope Walking Stick Costume Wooden Cane Foldable Rosewood Stick Steampunk Style (Polished Brass)

This is a really fun and original idea--to combine a walking cane with a telescope. The one problem--it seems to break easily. I used it in a play where a character was supposed to go from using it as a cane to using it as an instrument to observe someone else, the transition was supposed to be fast. But there are a number of steps to take before the conversion is done, including fiddling with a small chain., and that seems to tare easily,. We managed to fix it again, and maybe the item is not meant for use on a theater stage. But it was a little more fragile than I would have liked it.

It’s an awesome talking piece! I am wheelchair bound but can stand a walk a few small steps. This cane is not designed to be full weigh bearing but it will take some weight if you are just using it for stability. But as soon as you flip the eye piece out, everyone wants to see it, play with it and talk to you about it. As an Ice-breaker around new people, this cane can’t be beat. To top it all off, it works! You won’t see the rings of Saturn with it, but it wasn’t meant for that. I love it!

The little set screw to hold the head in the vertical position doesn't have a female counterpart, so everything wiggles and slips. I added one with a drill. The optics are just for show; horrible quality.

Too tall, could not bend the head to make an easy grip like the picture and the gold top came right off the wood with no way to screw back on!

Not only was this shipped and delivered in a timely fashion. Its very beautiful and sturdy! We bought it as a gift and we just know he’s going to LOVE it!!!Also…bonus…the telescope works!!!
