The Perfect Guidebook for Medicinal Herbs
This book takes readers on the ultimate herbal medicine journey. Whether you are new to herbalism or have already created your own teas and tinctures, the author lays out an enormous amount of insight to help us become an expert in the tradition. This book covers all areas to become an herbal pro, both in the kitchen and the garden. While reading, I felt so inspired to begin growing and cultivating, and to ultimately create medicinal concoctions of my own! It will certainly have involved readers referring back to this book, or more appropriately, this guidebook, throughout the herbal creation process.Written in a very clear and succinct manner, the book is organized into four parts where we review background knowledge of herbalism to set the stage and prepare us to not only be able to grow and care for our own herbal plants, but also to learn the best way to handle and use them safely and effectively. I really appreciated how the author educates readers on the concept of integrating herbal medicines more readily into our daily lives and not only viewing them as an alternative for treating ailments. Recognizing that these medicinal plants provide a wide scope of uses really opens up so many possibilities for maintaining a naturally healthy body through preventative care. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see such creative ways that the herbs could be used while cooking daily meals. Overall, I greatly enjoyed bridging my knowledge gaps on gardening for backyard horticulture and herbal plants, it was a pleasure to see that while reading each chapter I learned something new, interesting, and applicable. I definitely recommend reading, this book is a keeper.

A Handy Guide for the Herb Garden Beginner
At a time when so many are stuck at home, I thought this was the perfect time to look into growing my own herbal remedies. I’ve been relying much more on natural cures the past few years, such as elderberry, apple cider vinegar, etc. For such a succinct manual, this is as thorough as you can get for a beginner. The author cuts out the trial and error possibilities or notions of just dumping some seeds in soil and hoping for the best that you might go through when trying a typical herb garden from scratch. There’s a particular method to getting the conditions right for a successful medicinal herb garden. I wouldn’t have guessed that the planter plays a factor in your herbs’ growth, or to consider how certain herbs react to various elements in order to group similar ones together.I liked that the beginning showed the upsides to having aloe vera, rosemary, chamomile, and the like, on hand. Even some herbs’ properties that I felt knowledgeable about are expounded upon even further. By far, the best part after all the basics of getting your garden going are covered, are the included recipes! Each recommended herb comes with a tea and tincture recipe, plus a different food recipe they can be integrated with. And as with any kind of medicine, the risks and proper dosage are explained.A valuable manual for those interested in or starting natural-based remedy and diet solutions on their own.

With the increase price of produce and herbs, I've taken an interest in starting my own garden. I decided to download this book in hopes that it would be a handy collection for my new interest. Well, this book was all that and more. The author provided insight into almost every aspect of gardening, which for a rookie like myself, was much needed. After reading thoroughly, I've decided now is the best time as ever to get started. I will follow the instructions and guidance that this author so kindly delivered in every chapter. I look forward to adding to my review once I begin to grow my own array of delicacies.

ok
Not a terrible book for beginners, but there were many grammatical errors or contradicting statements. Book should’ve been proofread a bit more thoroughly.

Terrible book!
A truly awful excuse for a book! It is printed in a large, spaced out font to make a small amount of text fill up each page. The content is extremely basic and very repetitive with very little useful content and there are NO pictures! It's a book about gardening and there isn't a single image in the whole sorry excuse for a book! I bought it as a present but the intended recipient could write a better version himself.Utterly, inexcusably dreadful. VERY disappointed. DON'T buy it unless you want a very expensive firelighter.
