I purchased the 2010 Phantom 2.75 inch BIG BARREL Baseball Bat VX99 Ultra Strength Alloy 29 Inch 20 oz (-9)on April 18th, 2010. Prior to purchase I called Vikram Sports to ask a question and received a call back within 15 minutes with an answer. I decided to purchase and received the bat as described. I took my son out for batting practice and to break in the bat according to the directions. The result was immediately visible. Due to the larger barrel size, my son was able to make contact more consistantly with better results. Most hits seemed to jump off the bat and the balance allowed him to swing better. We tried to use his old bat (while he was hitting well) but the result was similar contact with less velocity. I liked the results but my son loved the way it felt and his confidence has improved at the plate. Several other kids on his team have started using his bat, in practice, and are seeing similar results. I would recommend this bat, not just for the value but also for the resulting performance.

This is our second Phantom bat purchased from Vikram. This is a terrific bat that has become the favorite of my son's 4th Grade baseball team. Hitting a pitch at this level becomes more of a challenge as the boys are able to throw a bit harder and this light weight bat enables most of the boys to have a quick bat with the security of a 2.75 inch barrel. Our first Phantom bat purchased last year is still in service and used by my son's team mate's. They call it the "Magic Bat," because of their success when using it.

My son is 10, but he's over 5 feet tall and weighs 125. The 29/20 gives him enough reach but also allows him to get some good torque when he swings because the bat isn't too heavy. You can spend triple on a Combat or DeMarini, but there's no point unless you're into brand names.

My son really loves the weight distribution of the 29/20. He feels that his swing is more comfortable & effective than his name brand Half & Half of similar size & weight. Now, he will not even pull his half & half out of his bag. He will only swing his Phantom! I've never seem him hit the ball before, like he is now!
