When I decided to invest in a protective case for my iPhone 12, the TORRAS Military Shockproof Case caught my attention with its claims of certified military-grade drop protection and slim design. Excited to give my new phone a reliable shield, I opted for this particular case. However, after using it for a considerable period, I must say that my experience has been far from ideal, and I find myself giving it a 2-star review.The biggest selling point of this case is its so-called “Certified Military Grade Drop Protection.” Promising to withstand drops from a height of 8 feet with its combination of rigid back and soft silicone bumper featuring X-Shock Cushion technology, my expectations were high. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different. While it may have survived some minor falls, it failed to live up to the hype during more significant impacts. The screen and corners of my iPhone were left with scratches and dings, leaving me disappointed with its actual performance in critical moments.At first glance, the frosted translucent design with colorful detachable buttons seemed appealing. However, the novelty quickly wore off. The frosted back, while elegant initially, was prone to collecting fingerprints and stains, detracting from its overall appearance. The detachable buttons, while a creative idea, proved to be more of a hassle as they started to loosen over time, becoming an annoyance rather than an added benefit.TORRAS claims that this case strikes a perfect balance between slimness and protection. Regrettably, this isn’t entirely true. While it may be slimmer compared to some other rugged cases on the market, it still added more bulk to my iPhone 12 than I expected. The sleek design of my phone was compromised, and it no longer felt as light and comfortable in my hand as before.The silicone bumper, intended to provide a secure grip, didn’t perform as expected in the long run. It began to show signs of wear and tear over time, leading to concerns about my phone slipping out of my hand, which was the last thing I wanted from a protective case.On the positive side, the case’s claim of having a skin-friendly nano oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprints, stains, and yellowing initially seemed promising. However, in practice, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. Despite my efforts to keep the case clean, it started to develop a yellowish tint over time, making it look less appealing.TORRAS does deserve credit for using RoHS authorized odor-free materials, considering the impact of phone usage on our health. However, this alone couldn’t redeem the overall performance of the case, given the numerous shortcomings I encountered.In conclusion, the TORRAS Military Shockproof iPhone 12 Case promised much but delivered little in terms of true protection and user satisfaction. The “Certified Military Grade Drop Protection” didn’t hold up as expected, the frosted design became a magnet for fingerprints and stains, and the slimness of the case was compromised. The silicone bumper failed to maintain its grip, and the oleophobic coating proved less effective than claimed. While the use of RoHS materials is commendable, it couldn’t compensate for the case’s overall lackluster performance.As someone who values the safety and aesthetics of my phone, I regretfully cannot recommend this case to others. There are better options available on the market that provide more reliable protection without sacrificing the slimness and elegance of the iPhone 12. I will be looking for an alternative case that lives up to its promises and truly safeguards my phone in the future.

I've had this phone case for a few years. It's easy to grip meaning the phone gets dropped less often, and robust enough to protect my phone which over time has been dropped a few times with no damage at all.

Fits my phone and really good quality. Only issue is if you put a card within the cover, the sides don’t go fully around the phone

Love the anti slip outer edge nice feel to it & wont discolour like the majority all clear cases. Nice clear back with black outline looks good 👌

Love this case and I have bought another for my partner. This has to be the best case I've ever used. Feels really nice in hand. Dropped my phone a few times and has protected it and really like the changeable button colours.

Brought this to replace my existing Miracase. I love the iPhone without any case but don’t want to run the risk of not having a case. I’m not a dropped so I was hoping this would be thin and as close to no case as you can get. Unfortunately it is no thinner then my existing Miracase and I’m finding it more slippy to hold.All in all, not what I was hoping it would be, but for those just looking for an average phone case it does the jobUPDATE: since writing my previous review I was contacted by the seller who offered a replacement case. It’s a hard plastic case not silicon type case but is much thinner. Can’t comment on the protection it provides as haven’t dropped my phone with the new case on and have no intention of doing so. As for how it looks though it’s much nicer and no where near as bulky and phone feels so much lighter. Nice to deal with a seller who cares and provides after sale care not just looking to take your money and run.
