Great laptop, responsive screen, reasonable AUE date
Great chromebook. I purchased my first Acer Spin 311 through Target, and now a second Acer Spin 311 via Amazon.I have zero problems with this Chromebook. Responsive touchscreen. Hinge on this 360 degree laptop is plastic but strong. The AUE date (Automatic Update Expiration) data is June, 2027. That is five years away. Since I got this chromebook at a good price, that AUE date is okay. Finally, and this comment applies to all chromebooks, I really like the security provided by a chromebook. Chromebooks use an operating system that pervasively uses a technique called "sandboxing". Sandboxing applies to both apps and the Chrome browser. For example, every time a tab is done in a Chrome browser all its data is thrown away. The "sandbox" is emptied out. Nothing sticks around on your computer. This sandboxing makes it very difficult for attackers to inject malware into your chromebook. This sandoxing makes the ChromeOS far safer than Windows or MacOS. This does NOT mean that malware attacks cannot happen, but they are much harder to pull off.As for this laptop, I like it for everyday use far more than my Macbook simply because I can use it as a tablet or a laptop, and it is very light for travel. Also excellent battery life.

Great value
Good value for entry level Chromebook. Used for internet, email, and Google Workspace. Also like the tablet mode for e-readers. Not bulky when in tablet mode and it's light weight. Works well in tablet mode but the touch screen is a bit finicky, which is a fine trade off for the price and quality build. This is an entry level Chromebook. The specs are not for gaming. Google is improving the Andorid intergration and slowly adding more available Android apps. The Auto Update Enddate (AUE) is June 2028 adding to the value for the cost.

Exactly what we wanted
This is a great computer. We purchased it for my daughter and it works great. I’m impressed with the battery life that it has.

For my 9 year old
It's good enough for her! I wouldn't use it. The touch screen is annoyingly unresponsive and the display looks awful, but for a kid, it's more than enough.

Looks brand new and performs flawlessly
So far so good. This Chromebook Spin came double-boxed, with an Acer card inside, and still had factory stickers and protectors on it. To all appearances it's never been used.Performance is good, and you aren't necessarily tied at the hip to Google, other than having to have a Google account to access the device. (An anonymous account can be easily enough created.) This machine will also run Linux applications, including Wine if you want to run Windows programs.I deleted all the Google apps I could, and found a nice little Android notepad app to to replace the crappy Google version. I run DuckDuckGo browser in addition to Chrome (which i keep on a short leash), and installed Proton VPN. If you're a musician/composer, check out the Android app Caustic. The interface is well-suited for the screen on this device.Overall I am quite pleased with this, my first portable computer.

My first Chromebook
My last laptop died. I spent a couple of months doing my computing and gaming on a cell phone, doable but a pain. Started looking for a tablet. Found this gem, best of both a laptop and a tablet. Extremely useful for my uses. Perfect for checking social media and email. Beautiful screen, great resolution. Excellent for gaming.

Renewed product stopped working after about 5 months
This product was fine was it lasted (although the web camera kind of sucked, I looked kind of green during the Zoom meetings I used it for). I used it pretty sparingly as I only wanted to have a backup laptop at home for when I didn't want to use my work laptop at home. Unfortunately at about 5 months owning the computer it turned off and didn't turned on again. No damage had been done to it, never dropped, always handled carefully. It would charge, the indicator light would come on, but the device screen remained black. I looked up troubleshooting methods and called customer service but nothing worked and when I contacted the seller, Amazon, and the manufacturer about the problem no one had any help for me. I do wish I'd purchased the additional warranty as Amazon's policy for fixing/replacing renewed items is only 90 days. 5 months lifetime for a laptop I paid nearly 200 bucks for and used very lightly is pretty terrible, even in this age of egregious planned obsolescence I would have hoped for at least a year. I definitely would not recommend purchasing renewed items from Amazon.

It’s a good starter computer
So I would highly recommend reading what all features this has it doesn’t have a disc drive like I needed but that’s my fault I didn’t read enough but other than that it works pretty good it has made me resetup the whole laptop 3 times after I have already logged into my accounts and set it up properly but now it works no issue it solved it’s own issues I guess
