HUE HD Portable USB Camera (Blue)

Took me a while to figure it out even though it said it was plug and go. Could have been user error but I was expecting it to just pop up once plugged in. This was not the case. I have Windows 10 and it stats that you can just use the camera function with windows 10, but it didn't mention that turning the camera around would turn this on. I thought it was another advanced feature, but it turned out to be really that simple. Will work great with remote learning.

My granddaughter is using this along with a projector to practice at ‘being a teacher’. I am amazed at the quality of the images when used to present live documents/drawings and when she uses it to capture herself talking. I believe this was her fav this Christmas. No issues hooking it up to her laptop.

Now fondly named “Hugh” by my students, the document camera was a big life saver in my classroom this year. I was able to project textbooks, worksheets, read alouds, images from my phone, etc onto our board. It worked great and needed very little set up to work.The reason I have to give this four stars is because of the camera. While most of the time it is great (for a SD camera), anytime there was sun coming in from the windows we had a problem. I needed to set up barriers to shade the papers so the glare wouldn’t make it appear white on our board. But, with shade, this worked great!Definitely great for the price!

So cool. If you want to help your students learn to annotate effectively, they have to see you doing it too. This is a great way to help kids if you don't have an interactive whiteboard. It's also a great way to let kids lead the lesson or share their work or thought processes with other students. The picture is clear, it's easy to focus, and it's highly positionable. I'm so glad I bought this!

I use this product as a document camera. I was disappointed that I needed to download software to be able to use the product. I was under the impression that it was plug in and use. I had to download a free version of the software due to lack of funds. The free version, as would be expected, is not the best quality. I would really like to buy and download the real software, but I will use the device on various computers in the classroom. I am not sure if I would have to buy the software for every computer I will use, or just one. It could get really expensive.

Update- The camera was replaced and worked for about 2 months. We then experienced the same exact problem of the gooseneck portion of the camera shorting out. As of today (September 13th) it is no longer working. This is the second time we've had the same problem with this camera. Do not buy this!!!One positive thing - customer service has been easy to work with. However, I'd prefer to have a working product over good customer service.Original review: We purchased this camera for use during online educational therapy for my daughter. We've had slight problems with it disconnecting, or maybe shorting out, since we first received it and today it completely stopped working. We only had it for 4 months. I don't know if this is an issue with this specific camera, possibly we got one with a short in the wiring, or if it's an issue with the cameras in general.

This works great, puts your face where you want it on the screen, great with green screen too

Needed a camera that was flexible to show work to students. This works great! I can teach virtually and show written work to students!
