There is a bar, when you walk through the gate door, that is eye level.. I smacked myself on the nose bridge, between the eyes not only once, but TWICE. It's misleading because it seems tall, but the door is not tall whatsover. I dislike this about it because I don't always remember to duck.

Fairly easy to assemble and set up. However, the tarp straps leave a bit to be desired in durability and two panels did receive damage to their tops in transit. Since it takes four panels each side I just shifted them around so the damage would not interfere with the roof. I am using this for chickens so if you are too I suggest digging out a trench 2 - 3 inches from the cage and backfilling it with pea gravel to help maintain drainage around the cage since the tarp essentially channels all rain around the edges.

We use ours as a small pen for our Boston Terrier who cannot have unfettered access to the yard due to allergies. I modified the cage for him to be able to access it through his dog door. While using the main door as access for get inside and trim the grass with a weed eater.

This would be a great kennel if the box it was in didn’t come damaged and pieces to put it together we’re missing. I finally got around to putting kennel number two together come to find this out and I’m disappointed. 🥺

This Homestead kennel was cheaper than others which is why I purchased it a few years ago. However, the clamps provided with this kennel bend easily over time and eventually will not keep the panels together (my pups have escaped through the cracks a few times). The clamps slide/fall even after the bolts are tightened repeatedly. Also, the panels are lightweight and are NOT sturdy or strong compared to similar kennels. Therefore, if you ever have to move this structure while it’s assembled, it will easily fall apart and/or collapse on itself. Afterwards, reassembly is a nightmare (sadly it’s happened to me many times). Additionally, the gate latch was missing upon delivery but when I asked for it, the vendor was non-responsive and I’ve since had no luck finding one that can be purchased separately to fit this specific kennel gate (it’s since been secured with a bungee cord). If I had it to do over back then, I would’ve purchased a different kennel of higher quality in the first place. While recently searching for another kennel to purchase, I ran across this one again and wanted to remind buyers that you definitely get what you pay for - lesson learned.

Got this for a catio and love it! I researched other wooden cations, but they weren’t very sturdy, so I decided to do a kennel for a dog instead! My cat loves being outside and keeps him safe from other cats and gives him time to be outdoors from time to time! I highly recommend this product!
