Elm Creek Quilts Series books 1-21
I loved reading every book in this series. They piqued my interest in learning to quilt. The characters were real and I felt that I was present in every situation.

Great read
It is a book that addresses so many different issues with fun, heart & good ideas. It is one for the times to show what Dan be done in life.

Nice holiday reading
This truly reads like a story collection about individual women connected to the Elm Creek Quilt ladies, except that their stories are interconnected. Together, they tell the backstory of the quilting community and how the Christmas Boutique was held at the Elm Creek Manor when an emergency caused it to be relocated from the church.

Like Going Home for Christmas
The Christmas Boutique, #21 in the Elm Creek Quilts Series takes place a year after Sylvia's Christmas wedding. A lot of the book is a retelling-in a nutshell- of a number of other stories...the reader will recognize them if they have read the other books in the series. The format works, because anyone who picks up this book and hasn't read the others will quickly understand the dynamic of the Elm Creek Quilters group and the chemistry of the characters. It is good for playing catch-up with all the various characters, while some of the story threads are left unresolved, as they don't fit in with the plot of the Christmas Boutique itself. So grab a cup of tea and curl up with a quilt. This book is like going home for Christmas.

Some Characters are Truly Mean-spirited People
For many years, I read the Elm Creek Quilters books and really enjoyed them. Then they seemed to disappear and I stopped looking for them. It seemed as if the series was over. It was very exciting to learn about the Christmas Boutique book and I mostly enjoyed it. But it was so disappointing to have the book end with lots of unanswered questions. Since the books have been released so infrequently, I have to assume that we will have to wait a really long time to find out about the twins' birth etc Not to sound too glum, but I have pancreatic cancer so I doubt I'll ever hear the rest of the story. Also, I don't remember the other books having so many people who were so hard-hearted and ugly to each other. Are all quilters and quilting groups like this?

The story line of the book
I read all the Jennifer Chiaverini books I can get hands on.. I really enjoy the story of the quilters in Elm Creek Series. They hold your interest from the beginning to end of story. Jennifer is a wonderful author.

Over 850% rehash of others in the series
Wouldn't you think that by buying book 21 in a series of 21 stories the author would understand that you had already read the other 20? But here we are again with another 'new' novel in which a very large part of the content is a rehash of the contents of the old ones in the series! This is so frustrating - who wants to buy a book which simply repeats what has already been published? If I want to read them again I can simply go to my library and there they all are! There is very little new content in this book, most disappointed!

Chistmas disappointment
Really disappointed that this is old back stories recycled, so much so that at first I thought that I had inadvertently purchased a re-issued book instead of a new release. In total there is only a few chapters of new material. I feel somewhat conned which is really disappointing given that we fans have waited such a long time for a new book in the series

A great seasonal read
As a fairly new quilter, I stumbled across this book while browsing for a light-hearted Christmas read. What a treasure! I especially loved the mix ofpersonal stories of the main characters, detailed descriptions of the quilts (which had me making full use of search engines!) and a glimpse of life in a small American town. I will now start to plough through the Elm Creek Valley series.

The Christmas Boutique byJennifer Chiaverini.
I haven’t read the book yet but it’s a series I’ve been reading so I’m sure it will live up to expectations.
