kHmmm. I see that someone got one of these which had bad welds, but accusing the rest of us of fake reviews is a bit over the top. Must have been a bad day. So here's my story: I am addicted to fresh pikneapple. When I was buying three containers of already peeled and cored fresh pineapple at the grocery store for almost 8 bucks apiece, I finally got a clue and found this product on Amazon. Frankly, I was dreading doing the work myself because I just knew it was going to be a pain in the youknowwhat. Pleasant surprise! Cut the top off the pineapple about an inch down, center the core over the hole in this device and twist lightly. It slices through with almost no effort, and the entire process takes about three minutes and one has an entire pineapple ready to go. I LOVE this item and use it constantly. No welds have popped. And I have considerably reduced the cost of my daily fix of fresh pineapple. I am a real consumer, I really purchased this item, I really love it as much as I say. Highly recommend.

You know how you walk through Home Goods and see some of the kitchen gadgets and think "Ok, is that really necessary?" I'm definitely one of those people - like, yes it may make a task mildly easier, but is it worth taking up space in my kitchen for bi-annual use? - No.But this. Oh, this; this is different. Is it really necessary? YES THIS IS SO NECESSARY.Not that cutting pineapple is hard, but it's more tedious than I care for so half the time I put off cutting it up because I'm being lazy, and then I forget about it and it spoils and ends up in the trash. Spoiled pineapple no more! This is my new favorite kitchen gadget that I never knew I needed and I can't believe I waited so long to buy one. Bonus points (or maybe part of the intended purpose, I don't know) - it hollows the fruit so you can be a tropical fancy pants and drink your fabulous pina colada out of the pineapple itself. Wham, throw a mini umbrella in it and it's like you're instantly on a Hawaiian vacation.On top of that, it's a pretty simple design with no mechanical parts (whoo nothing to break!) and is a breeze - one might say, an ocean breeze? - to clean.If you're still on the fence and an avid pineapple eater, trust me and splurge the $7 - you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Very easy to use, cores pineapple as it goes, dishwaser safeCons: A little messyI bought this with very low expectations, and I was blown away by how well it worked. I swear it was pretty close to being magic. It's very easy to use and cuts through the pineapple with little effort. I really like that it's cutting out the core as you slice through it. It creates a nice spiral effect, and you can cut it into rings or dice it as you like. It basically turns the pineapple into a cool serving bowl as well, or maybe an extra large cup for a tropical drink. This definitely has us wanting to buy fresh pineapples and use them more often. After you're done you can just throw the slicer in the dishwasher or hand wash it.The only con I have is that it can be a bit messy if you have a juicy pineapple. It's not a knock on the product as there's really no way to deal with it. I would just recommend placing it in a large bowl before you slice to help with clean up.Overall, I would highly recommend this product.

I would give this 4.5 stars if I could, because it is almost perfect.I purchased the smaller of the models, so this review is for that one. I believe it's the 3 inch.It was really easy to use and works well. Basically you cut the top off the pineapple and line the core up with the corer and then press down and twist. I may just be awkward but I couldn't get the pineapple out without cutting the peel with a knife but once I did that it was able to easily remove it. The only thing that was difficult was removing the core from the peeler. I ended up having to push it out from the top and then grabbing it by the bottom with a paper towel.This is definitely worth the few bucks I paid for it.

This is an exceptionally well-designed and well-constructed kitchen tool at a very fair price. I recently took note in our household of the fact that we often passed up the opportunity to buy fresh whole pineapple, because cutting the pineapple up into edible pieces was such a messy chore, so I began researching the alleged "problem-solvers" online. Reading the pro and con reviews of a number of different models here on Amazon, I made a last-minute switch from the one originally considered, to instead purchase the Statko. When it arrived, I was not disappointed. Right out of the box, I could see that this was a very well-designed, nicely-finished tool with no rough edges or loose components. I followed the simple directions to apply it to a just-purchased whole pineapple, and was surprised by how effortlessly it could be driven through the body of the pineapple, enabling me to pull out the entire innards in nicely rounded, juicy wheels of fresh fruit, leaving the center core standing inside the empty shell. It did a really nice job. I had an exceptionally large pineapple, so there was enough meat left on the inside of the shell that we kept and ate that too; but now that we know the dimensions of the Statko, it will be simple to select medium size whole pineapples in the future, which will core out perfectly with the Statko! Very clever and useful and attractive tool!

I needed this to create pineapple vases for a shower and it worked perfectly! I was a little skeptical after taking it out of the box and seeing how small it was, but it worked great! My only complaint is once the meat is removed, the core is difficult to cut out to create a smooth bottom. I wish this tool could remove the core as well. I noticed reviews stating leftover meat in the pineapple. I didn't have that problem with the pineapples I used. I made sure to use smaller sized ones, since I bought the tool for small/med pineapples. It removed a lot of the inner meat for me. So make sure the tool is the correct size for the size of the apple you wish to cut up.
