Crazy value
I was looking for a wireless charging pad and came across this one. I'm not Christian, so the depiction of Christ is not a desirable feature for me, but there are many other great features. Aside from being very afforable as a stand-alone charging pad, it also functions as a power bank with a huge 8000 mAh capacity, which itself should be more expensive than the whole charger is being sold for. The price is staggeringly cheap. There are a few downsides. First, wireless charging is fairly inefficient @ 73% efficiency, so if charging portably you will get fewer charges out of a 8000 mAh battery than you think you should. Even so, it's cheaper than most 5000 mAh banks. The surface of the charging pad is very, very slick: my caseless iPhone 7 slides right off if the pad is out of level by even a small amount. This is very worrysome if your device rests where it has the potention to fall onto hard surfaces. I'm thinking of putting a couple of rubber stickers onto the pad to stop this from happening. Finally, and most significantly, there is no option to turn off the light-up feature. Whenever the pad is charging something, or being charged itself, it lights up very brightly. Completely intolerable if it is anywhere in your bedroom at night. However, if you are like me and did not want it to light up in the first place, it is very easy to pry off the top cover of the charger and snip the wires to disable the light. They are dedicated to the light so will not hinder charging performance by removing, and in fact I suspect it may improve it by directing more current to charging than to the light.Overall, the negatives are vastly outweighed by the positives. At this price, I'm going to buy a few more to keep in places where an 8000 mAh power bank might come in handy (e.g. car glove compartment, laptop bag, etc.) and to give out as gifts.Highly recommend at this price.
