Handy dandy tool to keep in glove box. Would order again.

The product is sturdy, hold lots of weigh, and allows both drivers and passengers ease of exit from sedan vehicles where the floor of the vehicle is lower than the threshold of the door jam. An especially accessible need for passengers and drivers who have mobility issues with their knees and or who need a grip to pull themselves out of the vehicle and on to the pavement generally, Car Caddy Safety Grab Handle does the job and is a welcome addition to easily install on the window of your vehicle. Ergonomically assist exit from sedan cars. Reasonably priced and well thought out to function as an assistive device.

I ordered this item when I knew I was going to have back surgery and I was searching for products that would help make my recovery easier. I could tell that having something in the car to hold on to for help getting in and out of the car would be very useful. So I ordered it and my husband installed it before picking me up from the hospital.It came in handy right away because I left the hospital with severe muscle spasms in my lower back. It took my husband and an orderly 15 minutes to get me from the wheelchair into the car because the spasms were so bad and happened so frequently. I honestly don't know how I would have gotten in without this to hold on to. It also helped to hold it on the way home because even though my husband tried to drive slower and avoid bumps, it was still hard to stay stable and upright. The strap is very strong and the handle is comfortable.I have found this has an additional use as well. I also have Fibromyalgia. My neck and shoulders get very uncomfortable when riding in the car. I often hold on to the handle in our SUV that is over the window - not only for stability but also because it helps to relieve pain and pressure in my should/neck and arm. The car caddie is an excellent addition to that handle because it hangs down lower, giving me another option when reaching higher gets uncomfortable. For that reason, I plan to keep this in my car from now on.There is, for me, one glitch though. I gave this product four stars because I really like it a lot. However, it is sometimes difficult because I am not the only person who sits in the passenger seat. My teen daughter sits there as well, and when she does, she obviously doesn't want this hanging next to her and blocking her view out the window. So she tucks it up under the sun visor. I thought that was a clever idea until the day I was a passenger and the sun was in my eyes so I lowered the visor and this swung down in my face!! It's more annoying than anything when it happens, but for some reason I just can't remember that it's going to happen so unfortunately it wasn't only the one time. Embarrassing, I know.I think this could easily be a full-on five star product if they just put a little hook on it up near the top to hold the handle in place when not in use, or something to that effect. If the product already comes with a solution for this issue and I'm just not aware of it, I would be more than happy to know about it and add that extra star in if it resolves my issue.Regardless of that one thing, however, I still think it's a great product and I am still keeping it in my vehicle. It really is so helpful for all of the reasons I mentioned!!

My elderly dad likes this handle for helping him get in and out of the car.

I think that for many people this item has the potential to work pretty well depending on their age, medical condition and strength. However, in the case of my crippled and elderly mother it's not so great and she doesn't even use it.My mother is very short (under 5 feet now due to her illness), crippled and not terribly strong. Due to her age and condition I am always right there to assist her should she have any trouble or slip - I'm a bit on the paranoid side when it comes to my mother's safety and well being. Despite the ability to adjust the straps, she finds it difficult and uncomfortable to grasp to assist her in entering or exiting the vehicle. It just moves around too much for her. She actually prefers to grip the door frame itself as she gets into or out of the vehicle and has completely given up on the product.I must also question the recommended positioning of this product on a window frame. Although it may work in some cases, it could potentially be a hazard if the window is not fully closed and can become annoying at times while driving.I probably should have returned the product before the return window expired, but I kept it installed in my vehicle during the time it took me to move her and part of her household almost 1000 miles after my father had died. I kept it installed as a possible backup thinking that it might work out for her over time, but this did not turn out to be the case.

Helped me get in and out of my campervan

Hubby is a post-stroke invalid who always needs something solid to hold onto to help pull himself upright. Our newest van didn't have any handholds so I got this thinking we could attach it to doorframe with window down.It's easy enough to attach. The problem is that it slides around & I can't snub it enough to hold steady in one place. IF it slides, it's not steady enough for him. Worthless!

The perfect item to use if you need extra help entering a vehicle. Easy to attach to door window frame, and adjust for proper use. Can be moved to another vehicle if needed. Wonderful invention!
