Clickteam Fusion 2.5

I just got this software yesterday. I haven't done much yet, but so far have been able to add my own images and input basic physics and movement. The program has built in physics engines that you can designate to objects in your game which helps with novice designers like myself with not alot of programming experience, but you do essentially have free rain to program pretty much every aspect of your game. The only thing I would say to those upfront who are skeptical of purchasing this as I was, is that this does have a learning curve to it. I'm sure with time I will gain a familiarity with it, but this has the potential to make some great games and I'm excited to play around with this program. There are tons of tutorials online that I plan on watching to help grasp certain concepts of this program and that will help with the event editor system. It appears there is a large support community if you have difficulty with somthing, which is comforting.There is the ability to edit your objects but the tool is somewhat limited. I suggest using an alternate graphics program such as gimp to create and edit your sprites and animations, Which you can upload to fusion

Expected a beginners application to open game theory and development to younger grandchildren

Bought this for my 14 year old son. He had the previous version. Good updates, but he said they need better tutorials for instruction. There is a lot he still doesn't know how to use and this is a kid who programs almost everyday.

I bought the Steam version of this product through a Humble Bundle sale. I will say, I was initially intimidated at the thought of trying yet *another* game development software, as I have tried several and rapidly found myself very overwhelmed, but that line of thought was immediately quashed. Turns out that the software includes a number of super easy to follow, step by step tutorials, and includes all of the assets to complete them. Even being completely brain dead from a long day at work, I was able to create a (albeit, basic) fully-functioning breakout-style game in about an hour and a half. I'm still working my way through the software and will update this review as I discover more, but so far, I'm going to say that this is very much a newbie-friendly product. I am personally excited to see what all I can create with this.Also, it is worth noting: the official Clickteam Fusion website has a number of additional game creation assets available for download. You'll just need to unzip them into the proper directory. Do yourself a favor -- don't squirrel away your install down inside some obscure file structure. Doing that can make it very tedious to browse to the proper assets.The layout of the software itself is a bit blah, but it's a development tool, so that's about par for the course, really. The assets that are provided are good for the tutorials, but are really quite basic. They're better than 8bit, though, so that's definitely a mark in their favor.

This is an excellent program for people who are want to get into game development without feeling too overwhelmed. With that being said, there is a learning curve to this. You don't need a lot of programming knowledge for this to work (although it's always good to learn), and it's generally user friendly, but it takes some patience and trial and error before you'll start to feel confident with it.I also wouldn't recommend this program for elementary children, as it's just too complicated. For the hobbyist and the serious developer, though, this is a great tool.

Easiest Game creation tool I have ever used, the only issue I have is that there is not enough online tutorials for people who are beginners.This software is powerful but unless you have someone teach you the way around all the functions it can have you feeling lost.Mainly spam tutorials on YouTube of FnAF cloners and no real solid channels teaching yet compared to other tools like it.This is a very good program, the book can teach you what you need to know if you want to read...the developers are helpful and avoid looking at YouTubers trying to teach this because they are just not doing a great job at all.I personally own the software and would not trade it.
