Great entry level burr grinder to up your coffee game
Rating: 4.5 starsUsed for: Chemex, drip coffee, French press.Freshness is a big thing when it comes to coffee. You can't make good coffee with bad beans. The fresher the beans, the better the coffee. While a true nerd would roast their own beans before brewing, I am not there yet. The next best thing IMO, is to grind fresh beans right before brewing. It makes a big difference in the brew irrespective of the method you use to brew. This grinder boasts 18 modes. IMO, it depends on the kind of method you use to brew. I have used 3 so far, coarse for french press. Finer for chemex/pour over and for drip coffee machine. Being a butt grinder, the grind is more uniform than blade grinder. Because of the range, I keep track of the position for each of those three settings and that seems to work.Note that you'd have to tweak the range a bit every time you change beans. Some beans are more brittle and break easier and will result in a finer ground as compared to regular ones. Usually it takes me 1-2 tries to get it right. It also has automatic settings for the cup size but I prefer to weigh my beans before putting it in, so I don't really use that setting.Cleaning it is simple, just a quick wipe with dry paper towel after grinding and it comes off. It does leave some residue from the grounds that fall off near the mouth of the grounds container. Since it's located at the back it does not make a mess around the equipment as I have seen in some of the top drop grinders. It comes with a brush to clean the burr. Typically it's recommended that you clean it once a month or two or more regularly if you're using beans that are oily. The build of the product seems sturdy and it has a premium feel to it. It looks a cousin to my Sboly coffee maker. My daily cuppa coffee just got a little better and I'm happy that I no longer have to hand crank the beans, every time I'm craving a cup.

Sboly at home
I wanted a burr grinder I could be comfortable with, an easy to use, easy to keep clean option. I found it in my Sboly, and now it has a permanent home. It makes the best early morning companion, too. Even my dogs quickly learned when the grinding is finished it's a quick minute till my cup is steaming, and their food bowls are filled, so we all enjoy the beginning of the day together. Who knew a burr grinder would be my best buddy? Working from home sure has its privileges.

A Good Consistent Grind
This burr grinder is a really good product. I liked it it doesn’t take up a bunch of space on my kitchen counter. It has dials for the specific grind and amount, whether course or espresso. Everything comes apart so it’s fully washable and it has a dash of stainless steel so that it doesn’t clash with my other appliances. I’m glad I bought it and am thinking of buying another for the office.

Don't understand all the high reviews...
I love a medium roast coffee. I really wanted to love this product. It was easy to use, easy to clean and a great price value. This is my first burr grinder, it was a replacement for traditional coffee grinder. The whole reason why I switched to this type of grinder is because I wanted consistency with my coffee grinds. This coffee grinder does grind most of the coffee well, however, with every batch it creates a small amount of powdery grinds that mixes in with the good grinds. The powdered grinds makes the coffee bitter.I guess I could try to strain the coffee grounds to remove the fine grinds, but that just seems unreasonable.I gave it a fair test, unfortunately I had to return product. Despite all the great features of this product, it makes a terrible medium brew of coffee thus completely unusable for me and a 1 star rating....maybe you Expresso drinkers might enjoy?

Not worth purchasing
Product stopped working after I cleaned the burrs. The burrs would not stay connected correctly to grind coffee. Because this is within the warranty period I contacted Sboly via their website to initiate the warranty. I emailed them as well.THEY DID NOT RESPOND. AT ALL.I had to contact Amazon to initiate a return so I can get my money back.I have only had this product for 4 months for it to stop working.Added to the fact that Sboly apparently does not believe in customer service, I don't recommend this product or this company.I would give zero stars if I could.

Perfect for me. I love this thing.
Perfect little sized grinder for a counter top that doesn't have much room to keep things on. I make a pot of coffee which will last me a couple days so it gets used once roughly every 2 days. I keep my hopper full of beans and grind them fresh for every pot I make. I found "6" is the setting I use to grind a total of about 2/3's of a cup which, is how much grinds I would normally use for a full pot of coffee. If you're looking for a coffee shop sized grinder this is not for you. This is a compact sized grinder good for anywhere with limited counter space. The grind seems pretty consistent and it has a wide range from course to fine. I have found that if you don't tap the canister after the grind has been on, it can get messy with grinds on the counter top. I tap it a few times to let the loose stuff fall into the canister which does help. Or, you can put a paper plate under it but that's silly every single time you grind. Just give it a few taps and remove it carefully and you'll be fine. No mess.
