My brother asked me to order this for him. He uses it for Paranormal Ghost investigations and also as a home security. He said it was amazing and offered everything he wanted. The video quality is great at 720P

This is a great little system. Took some serious effort to get 8 sets of wires up the through the walls and into the attic and then back down into the eaves 18 feet above grade. Day time performance has been very good. Nighttime performance is pretty poor, but I have them mounted 18 feet above grade, so the IR doesn't travel the distance needed or cover the area needed. Several large IR flood lights would probably do the trick. These would be ideal to install in a store or indoor lighted facility for surveillance. Phone app works pretty well for live view, but is pretty high bandwidth user if you watch the HD stream. Manual doesn't cover much which is common with these cheaper DVR camera systems. I haven't fully figured out every option yet, but I have it recording for motion detection with areas masked off for false alarms. I have it working on my phone anywhere and PC at home. Playback is great on the local monitor. Overall I am very satisfied with this low cost system.

This is our 3rd security camera system, and I must say it is by far better than our previous ones yet is cheaper in price. We bought this one because our 4 camera system died on us, & we felt an 8 camera one would be a nice upgrade. They are typical to install, same as our other systems, which is nice. The DVR hard drive is much nicer & easily plugs our old computer monitor right into the back without needing a special cord or cable to do so which was a pleasant surprise. I love that it comes with a mouse to easily navigate instead of just the remote like our prior systems. Sound would be nice but with 8 cameras it would also be an issue I am sure so the lack of it isn't a negative. The visual quality is great, and the only issue we found was with 2 cameras we had angled higher during night vision mode- the reflection of our light grey eves threw the sensors off, but once we angled them down a few inches that was resolved. Overall we are exceptionally pleased with the system.

Upon receipt of the camera system, the items were packed securely so no damage was noted. Setup was easy and quick (minus running the cords). The cameras provide a great picture quality when viewed on an HD screen but lacks the quality when viewed on a mobile device. You can tell what is happening but can't make out details of a face or branding on clothing and such. With the HD monitor, you can. Playback from the DVR is simple and provides a great image and clarity as well on the HD monitor. I did also connect up a VGA and HDMI connection at the same time so I have two hard wired monitors and it worked great. I will be adding a HDMI splitter to try multiple TVs at the same time so I can view from what ever room I am in.The reasons for only 4 stars are:1. As mentioned above, mobile viewing is not as clear.2. Playback from a mobile device app seems near to impossible. It tells me connected successfully but then I get the spinning loading icon. I have left it that way for over 15 minutes and a 7 minute clip still would not load.3. You cannot use a Mac to view from the Safari/Chrome/Firefox browsers.I would recommend this to others for the simplicity of install, quality, & price. I will be adding audio to two of the eight cameras soon and will update my review once I have used it a while.EDIT: 2/8/2019The camera's have been excellent with the new mobile app that was released. But the customer service has been exceptional! Any time that I have emailed with a question or issue, they have been eager to help in what ever the issue or question was. I will be purchasing another system in the near future once our new house is finished as we will require the 16 camera system.

Great product. Easy to install. Clear pictures. User interface is a little bit hard to understand and I've been dealing with camera systems for 10 years. It's hard to figure out how to play back certain cameras. You can. It just takes some time to figure out.

This system is easy to install and is well worth money. Simple directions that any beginner can follow. We have a $5000.00 dollar camera system that we had put in and it stopped recording when we switched rotors. Could not get back into the system. Called tech support and you have to be a service rep with 7 digit number to even talk to someone. Kept trying to get the installer of the system to come back out and kept getting brushed off. Seen this system and thought what the heck for the money I would figure out how to install. Was able to unhook cameras from old system and connect to new. With following the directions was able to have the DVR recording with in less than an hour my time running new line from rotor to DVR. Would and will recommend this systems to others.

They are hit and miss. Daytime video is good while nighttime really sucks! Some cameras seem to have a better quality than others. Haven't tried the phone app. Playback really blows! If you have to go back and review it, it will only fast forward at a slow speed. I timed it and it takes 7.5 minutes to fast forward thru 1 hour. They really seem to collect spider webs like crazy too on the lens in just one night and that really affects the camera shot. Look elsewhere for a better one I recommend!

This is a great product for the price. As a complete kit I was able to set up the whole house using the kit components. My only complaint about it would be that the instructions are incomplete and clearly written by a non English speaker. I am finding setting up internet access to be a challenge due to the instructions.
