So-so
not our favorite, by any means, but a decent 'filler of time' on a lazy afternoon when nothing else is available

Love David Jason
This actor is awesome! He is a comedian by nature and every show he is in he shines! What a great series yet again. Here he shows yet another side of his acting ability. I just wish this series was longer like Frost! This is fun to watch!

Reasonable "caper" series, but no captions/subtitles
David Jason does his usual great job in this series of capers by a high-end thief and his newly recognized son. The fly in the ointment is the continuing indifference of the BBC to recognize the needs of the hearing impaired: No SDH captions nor subtitles available. Definitely a low-budget DVD production. Amazon also continues to fail in identifying whether or not a DVD has such captioning. So it's a crap shoot when you buy a series. English dialectical accents make these useful for even those with good hearing, and mandatory for the hard of hearing.

Gorgeous scenery, fun capers
Rather dated, but still enjoyable: good script/plot/acting; gorgeous scenery! I ordered this for personal viewing and now will donate it to the library

James Bond for oldies
This is grand entertainment: intelligent, funny, wholly unbelievable, escapist, and absorbing. Three cheers for David Jason, who portrays a number of characters with style. The opening film is a bit too violent, but perhaps the producers were trying to attract young audiences. There is some political correctness, as in the last film where the "hit man" is a slim oriental woman (beating up those huge bad guys). But no problem. Oldies who enjoy British films (I am one of them) will especially be attracted to Rough Diamond. It's our sort of James Bond without all the broads and nonsense.

For David Jason fans
I first saw him in A Touch of Frost and loved him and the series. This is good, but does not meet the grittiness and humor of Frost, but not bad.Not as trite as a Murder she Wrote and a bit of It Takes a Thief, it has been being the crook with the heart of gold, to some degree.Again, not bad, but a once through is probably sufficient

Good on the baddies!
We bought this series because the show has not been on Australian televisionto date. We thoroughly enjoyed the pilot show, and the other three films. You can't help yourself to urge the 'baddies' to achieve their goal. Each plot is well written and keeps you guessing to the last minute with plenty of twists and red herrings.Great guest actors certainly help to keep up the high standard of each episode. David Jason is a delight to watch. He is a skilled cameleon!A must see!

To Catch a Thief
I bought this because I have become a fan of David Jason ( TOUCH OF FROST series and GHOST BOAT if you have not seen them ). The first episode is a bit of a slow starter, but once you get into Jason's character it takes off. I am not as fond of the sidekick character, but Jason carries him well.

Very funny
My husband is a Brit and he thinks this show is hilarious. We both binge watched the entire Frost series starring David Janson too which is extraordinary. So I thought this show with such a good actor would be good as it was.
