The clamps are sturdy, threaded mechanism works smoothly, the opening accommodates a standard 2X4 on edge, which is what I used it for on my first project. The mechanism works like a vise grip, so there is some back and forth adjusting involved to get it just at the point where it locks closed and tight. putting together a 90 degree corner with two hands and one clamp is hard enough, and this adds to the challenge. But once aligned and locked, it served the purpose.

Much smaller gripping area than shown seemingly in the photo. Definitely will not hold two 2x4s laying on their side maxgrip maybe around two and a half inches per side.

Used them for a cabinet project. Worked well, no complaints.

Works great

When I used them for the first time they worked just like they were supposed to. They'll be a welcome addition to my tool box.

Used it to square up corners of PT 2"X10" boxes. Plenty sturdy foe this job.
