Rules for Writers (Paperback) with 2020 APA Update

I stumbled on this book as I searched for resources to improve my writing. After perusing a few reviews, I decided to give it a try. After all, the title suggested what I was looking for( rules for good writing) and my wife had the workbook on our shelves from a college course she just completed. I thought it would be a reference resource that I will consult occasionally to learn another boring rule on grammar or writing in general. I got it wrong! Here I am in Chapter 10, reading the book page after page with the intention of reading it from cover to cover. I can't put it down; I tried and could not! The content is so rich, so clear and concise, so simple to grasp and so useful. I am not a college student, but this book will transform my writing. Thank you Diana and Nancy for this amazing resource.

The seller did their job and gave me a clean, shrink wrapped copy of the book on time. The manufacturer, however, needs to do something about the quality of the paper because, as other reviewers have mentioned, some of the thin pages stick together. When I tried to carefully pull them apart, some stayed intact but a few tore at the binding hole. I'm OK with it, since I don't plan on reselling the book, but I recommend the paperback version if you want less likelihood of tearing to happen.

i liked this book very much, because it not only has all the necessary grammar rules, like punctuation, comma semicolon, verbs, adverbs, explanation of what thesis is, what is the correct format to write the essay and so on. and lots and lots of grammar related writing guidelines, but it also advises how a student or writer should speak to the audience, what comments are appropriate or not. But, do not confuse this with MlA book, because it does not have the exact citing sources explanations. But i would definitely recommend this book, for every one, especially who is in college, Very good reference material. and Affordable.

It's okay just the size of the book is short

Had to return bc the class was canceled. Unfortunately, they charge not only for return shipping, which I can understand even if I don't like it much. But then I get the notice that they charge a 20% restock fee. Totally lame. I didn't cancel the class, the school did.

Needed this for a collage english course. Has everything I need, easy to rent and return. Easy to navigate within the virtual book. Works on the Kindle app on most smart devices. Cheaper than buying a physical copy new or used. I highly recommend virtual rental.

Easy to understand and to adapt to your writing. I recommend for all my freshman peers out there!
