Full Range Leadership Development 2nd Edition

I'm using this book for one of my classes in my Master's of Arts in Leadership program. This book is written very well and has been very helpful to me in my class. I really appreciate what Avolio has to say and I enjoy reading this textbook for class. The principles that he brings up are very good and provide great food for thought.This is a great book for anyone who's seeking to develop his leadership skills and the skills of his organization.This review is my opinion and it is truly what I believe about this product. For school

It is a recommended companion to Riiggio and Bass's Transformational Leadership. It is a must read for those who now understand the value of transformational leadership and now have the burning question, How do the best leaders develop ? Are they born that way ? How does the development work ? Avolio answers those questions with research to support his conclusion. Very important work.

There are a lot of good points in the book. Makes for difficult reading at times due to grammatical structure. I would reccomend reading and getting paper copy so notes and hilights can be made in the pages.

This guy is actually full of crap. So much of this textbook is full of ethereal fluff and academic jargon that has little to no practical application in real life. He subtly inserts his personal opinions into the textbook which is quite annoying. Ultimately, reading a textbook about leadership is not going to make you a better leader. You have to go BE a real leader and learn lessons in real life. Don’t buy this book unless you have to. It was required for my class and I’ll be recommending to my instructors to drop this book from the curriculum for classes in the future.

excellent overview. writing style not overly academic.

Met or exceeded my expectations. What is shown is what I received.I have read this and expect to use as often as I can.

Only a handful of good information per chapter. Way too much filler in this box. He could have cut this book in half and saved the reader a lot of time.
