Direct Aftermarket Pick Up Truck Bed Extender Adjustable Hitch Rack for Hauling Lumber Canoe Ladder

Based on inconsistent reviews from everyone on these extenders, my suggestion is to examine what you get closely and be prepared to return using the option 'did not work' otherwise you will have to pay return shipping. Many of these extenders for sale here on amazon look the same but from reading all the reviews and looking at pictures in some reviews, it appears they are all actually very different construction and quality. Mine, ordered from this listing, was excellent. All the parts were there. The metal is all thick, tubular steel with a durable, rough powder coated finish. All the holes line up as they should. The included red flag is a nice touch. The 'field goal posts' work very well to keep the load on top where it belongs. I do recommend getting a hitch tightener though but that would be for any hitch accessory. I also got the Darby 968 Black Turbo Roof Rack which is great if your vehicle doesn't already have one and it doesn't affect the finish of your vehicle.

Shipped fast, strong, opens up wide and extend very tall, good quality steel, powder coating, and reflective stickers. I don't open it up in any direction and it's perfect height to my headache rack (backrack 145LV w/1" raised from normal height for bed cover).You will definitely need to find a good way to tension it left and right to your vehicle it will sway 4-6" if not.I use on my truck where I can also tow a travel trailer, I have a bed cover to ladder racks were not ideal. It's a great set up... the warning/marker flag is cheap, haven't used it, but wouldn't expect it to last one long trip without falling apart.

Researched several of these. This is the best of the bunch from what I was looking for. Very flexible in configuration. Works in pickup truck or a SUV roof carrier extender mode. Adjustable heights, widths, etc thoughout. Sturdy and holds 2X the weight of some other brands. Pins have built in retainer clips so you can't lose them. Reflective tape on back bar, both sides, sturdy cloth flag with attachment hook included. Comes apart (if you need to) for compact storage. Mine came with a welding error on one of the wings, however they replaced it immediately after I contacted them (with pictures). Great company to deal with. Communicated well, no hassles.

Used this to haul ladders on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Worked very well.Seemed a little loose when installed, with a lot of bounce and noise when unloaded.However, it is comprised of several small pieces, which makes it compact to carry inside the vehicle when not in use.Once loaded, and ladders secured the system was tight. The only noise was due to bumps in the road.The arms are loose in the cross member, so a wide load would either be supported by the short cross member or the outer arms, but not both simultaneously.

I have a Tacoma with a short box and this works perfect. I have had up to 3 kayaks fully loaded with gear on this with no problems. I like that it comes with the cloth flag so that there are no extra purchases necessary.

Well I haven't used it yet but this thing is built right. I love the adjustments on it and it will really help out with hauling lumber or anything else that doesn't fit in my 5ft bed. Cant wait to use it!

A handy item to carry long loads I use it in the up right position with a cab over bar when pulling a small camper behind me to transport my kayak and in the lower position to make transporting the kayak when not pulling the trailer

Best money I have spent in a while! I don't have to worry about my trim molding or lumber dragging the ground when I use this. It also accommodates 4'x8' sheets of plywood with ease and makes them much easier to load.
