I do not think this hard drive is compatible for IBM Thinkpad T42 Laptop. Its been wrongly marketed by the seller. Please be aware of it. It is waste of ordering it. Because of the compatibility error 2010. I bought it and tried fixing it but my computer repeatedly displayed an error 2010, which is either the firmware or the device is not compatible for the said machine. But the seller is very prompt in his payments and everything. I would also like to have my product return shipping charge from the seller too cause they should have mentioned that it is not compatible with the machine what am I using. The seller should know about the product that what they are selling for. Hence, they lack the basics and marketing the product. I am really disappointed with the product totally.

I got this for my T43 IBM thinkpad laptop. It's a great hard and great performance. I would say it's a little bit pricey (not much may be $10~$15) given the huge capacities available now for the same price.I have a problem with my own motherboard's firmware since it's 2006 made. I need to upgrade it! Right now I have to press "ESC" every time I am booting :(

Worked great in my older IBM Thinkpad Laptop. Easy installation. Gave my laptop more space for storage. Would have put two in, but room for only one.

Hard drive is causing my laptop to shut down!!! Returning to its original 6gb HDD!!!
