Doll Clothes for Everyday Play: 6 Outfits for the 18-Inch Doll

Love Joan Hinds books. I have made about 7 outfits and have had a great time using her patterns. There is one mistake with the long sleeve polo. The sleeve pattern does not instruct you to cut the sleeve on the fold. If you don't do this, you will have four separate pieces instead of two sleeves. The four pieces will not fit if you try sewing them back together. I think a little sewing experience is needed for some of the patterns, but new sewers can use this book and make fabulous clothes. It's lots of fun creating these doll clothes.

This is a nice collection of patterns for someone starting out on sewing for 18 inch dolls. The basic patterns are easy to adapt to suit your personal taste. And, the accessories add a special touch to the outfits. The sewing directions are clear and well suited to sewing for dolls. Joan HInds has published a number of books, so if you like this one, take a look at her others.

I like her style of patterns...easy to sew. She included a couple of accessories that the little girls in my life like. I just got this one, so I haven't made anything yet. It's a small book with little variety, but I knew that when I pre ordered it. I have other books of hers that make a better variety.There are some errors in the patterns. some of them do not say to cut on the fold, which would leave a garment that does not fit the dolls, so use some reason when cutting them out. One pattern is to be taped to another part before cutting out. The number of the pattern piece is wrong.

I've made two outfits from this book. Instructions are very well written. I'm a novice a sewing doll clothes and although I had to rip a lot, the pictures were pretty clear. You should have some sewing knowledge, it helps. The picture attached is the dress on the cover in pink.

I haven't had a chance to make any of the patterns yet, but I have other Joan Hinds doll books and they are my favorite, so I am sure I will love this one too! The patterns look easy and the directions are clear and I love that she has pictures in the directions.

Great product easy to understand patterns. Good for children to learn how to sew.

I did read this book and others in series from author. I found the designs slightly dated however it allowed for own creative thought too create new using basics. I struggled as a dyslexic too understand the instructions I couldn't visualise in parts too then what was the end of each part I gave up I couldn't work out what I was reading which I struggle with anyway. Maybe it's just me and others would be fab maybe in hindsight a book I would take out at library then if I did understand then would buy.

Pleased with this book it is as described and patterns are easy to make.
